Dr. Addams noticed a change in his newest charge as they walked arm in arm out of the house. She suddenly held herself with grace. Her chin lifted, her mouth grew set and her eyes took on a quiet stare of determination. He’d seen it before and knew quite well it was all a ruse. Lucretia was certainly not the first to portray fake indifference. They all eventually lost it and went back to their old ways.
