Letter bound for you

802 Words
I woke up by the bed and see the sunlight making its way on my window pane. Everything felt surreal by the moment as I stared at the colloids that continued floating by the rays that entered the room. I feel kind of nice... “Was everything that happened yesterday a dream?” I mumbled and I took a look at the phone beside me. It was already 10 am and it’s Tuesday! I sat down immediately causing my head the beat in pain. “Argh...” Yesterday wasn’t a dream and I shouldn’t have done that. I let half of my body fall down the soft duvet with my feet dangling down by the bed. “Tell me, Tricia... why did you suddenly leave after you talked with Kyle..? Don’t you want your life back..?” I tried rerunning my memory in my head and remembered yesterday. After Kyle and I talked, the old man suddenly barged in the room as well, and he was worried sick. And Tricia, she didn’t just leave right after Dad entered, she smiled at him first. I turned my head and stared at the reflection by the mirror. “You can’t just keep doing this you know? You also need to live your own and figure out the things that had gone wrong from before. If you are not going to show me any clue as to why you tried killing yourself, I cannot help you.” I kept looking at the mirror and there was nothing. I dangled my feet even more until I hit something by it. I sat down slowly so I could take a look at what it was and my eyes widened when I saw the paper bag that Kyle was carrying yesterday. What is this? I picked up the paperbag and put it on the bed beside me. It was a white paper bag and inside it, several envelopes were present. I took one and covered my mouth to prevent myself from gaping. Letters! This is for Tricia! When was this written? 2017? 4 years ago...? “I like too... For a very long time...” This was the first letter! Should I open it? It isn’t mine but... I think it will reach her wherever she in right now. I slowly opened up the letter when the old man entered the room. “Triz?” I hid the paper fast and threw the paper bag by the headboard. I thought he works this time of the day! “How are you feeling?” “I feel kind of good now. Thanks dad... I thought you have work this time of the day?” I asked and he went by my side to check the temperature. “I wanted to be here until your recover your health. And I didn’t wake you up. Mary said it’ll be better if you stay at home for a few days.” Few days?? “I can go to school tomorrow, I think,” I smiled as I rubbed my head. I need to go to school, exams are coming! Why am I so concerned about that now..? I huffed and dad shook his head. “Mary will just send you home,” he chuckled and it was kind of weird. The lady and this old man addresses one another like they have known each other for a long time. I want to ask him but I might go overboard again. “Anyways, what do you want to eat?” He asked and I kind of tasted the porridge that Ms. Mary made and it was delicious. “Porridge?” “Okay.” He replied before going out of the room. I made sure that dad was already downstairs before I grabbed the letter once again. I opened it carefully since I felt like it was a gold in my hand. I loved the way your eyes shine whenever you look at the sky. Even though I might be further steps away, I can see how doting they are. And I do hope you know, that those eyes are beautiful because they belong to you. I smiled when I read the lines embedded on the first letter. I folded it with much care and grabbed the next one by the line. It may be odd to receive a letter from a total stranger, but I meant no harm nor anything in return upon sending you my thoughts. It’s just that, its been going round and around my head--- the way you smile whenever you see the flowers by the garden. Ever since I saw that enchanting smile of yours, it just stayed right there, never to leave my thoughts alone. But why do you always frown whenever you try to touch their petals...?
