“Dad, can we buy some flower sprouts tomorrow?”
I asked and the old man spat out a coffee from his mug, making a mess on the floor. Is asking that so surprising?
“Why?” I asked shortly before grabbing the map from under the staircase.
“Uhm… You’re kind of allergic to flowers…”
“No, I’m not,” I implied and just became petrified afterwards. “I mean, what?”
She’s allergic to flowers?!
“You always get colds and rashes when you’re exposed to flowers…” he replied with doubt and I just fell silent.
“But if you insist, we can grab some sprouts or seeds tomorrow,” he exclaimed and I just looked at him. What a good dad. I smiled at the back of my head. He seemed to always mind what she wants.
Allergens are dangerous but I want to see it for myself--- I want to see what happens when you have allergies.
“Tomorrow it is. Thank you dad,” I smiled at him and turned around to head back to my room. But before I can, I just went to my dad to give him a gentle hug.
The old man gave a chuckle and patted my head on my embrace. “Good night, kid.”
I greeted him back and went ahead to my room. The girl’s room is tidier now. Of course, I cleaned it. Back in my day, I always cleaned my cave, I always cleaned my sword, and my armor. And I didn’t let my room be dusty and dirty since it’s all I have and it was important to me.
“What a messy student you are,” I giggled as I stared at the mirror. As I did, it was like I was seeing her have a little smile back at me and it kind of creeped me out.
“W-what was that?”
I realized that I was in her body and for a minute there I got scared that my reflection was smiling at me. I was the one smiling, but… I really feel like she was smiling too…
“A-are you there?” I went near the mirror and lifted my hand to touch it when a sudden knock on the door startled the hell out me!
“Oh my god!”
I placed my hand on my chest, catching my breath after I jumped from my place. That was scary. The old man just asked what time would I prefer for tomorrow’s grocery so I said 10 am. I might have to jog tomorrow morning on our busy streets.
As soon as I closed the door, I just went to sleep. It was a brief horror from that moment back there and this body sure doesn’t act well on it. The jump there had me dying! I laughed and covered myself with a blanket, continuously drowsing off to sleep.
A faint blinking of light surrounded me as I explored a vast nothingness which I knew I have been before. I walked and only my steps’ echo accompanied me.
I never stopped walking until the darkness suddenly became light, forming into a scenery which I have seen before. People started forming around me and all of them wore the school uniform. I walked with them like a by-passing wind and no one paid me no heed.
I continued walking until I saw a girl with black short hair standing and looking down on the floor. The students around her were laughing, mocking her altogether.
Is that…?
I charged near them but before I could even reach her, the scenery changed and I was teleported to the school canteen. This time, her uniform had an orange juice stain as she walked passed me, facing down at the floor.
I stopped and turn to look at her, my heart already turning unsteady as the events goes on.
What the hell are they doing to her…?
I stared at the faces of the people in the canteen but all of them were blurry so I decided to turn around so I could catch where Tricia ran off too but as I did, the setting was once again different and I was already on the guidance office.
Tricia was sitting on the other chair with another anonymous student sitting on the other. There were higher ups to and Tricia just proceeded to bow down, apologizing for something.
“I’m glad you finally know how to stand up for yourself.”
Ms. Rhea’s word came into my mind making me stare at Tricia who kept her head down as she apologized.
“I-is this how you’ve been dealing with how badly they are treating you…? You just--- apologize for something you didn’t do…?”
I walked towards where she was and this time I was able to grab her wrist, making her look at me, making me more surprised than she was.
Her eyes were empty but as soon as she saw me, Tricia just blinked at me several times before a smile appeared on her lips.
“W-will you help me?” she asked and I stayed petrified for a second. She spoke to me…
“What will I help you with?” I asked as she stared into my eyes and then she opened her mouth, saying something but it was some words I can’t understand since there were no sound.
“I don’t unders---”
A phone vibrated near my head making me open my eyes wider, realizing I was in bed. What did I just dreamt about…? I laid my body flat on the bed, looking at the ceiling as I recalled what she said. I didn’t understand any of it. I grabbed the phone beside me and take a look at why it vibrated and it was a message from an unknown number.
“Hi Tricia… Are you sleeping?”
Who would text this number at 11 pm?
“Who’s this?” I replied and then put down the cellphone before closing my eyes to continue my rest.
