The continuous ringing of the alarm clock made me jolt in my bed. I have classes today! I jumped out of bed and went immediately to the bathroom to get myself ready.
As I dashed towards the bathroom, my muscles hurt and my body feels so heavy. I never felt this yesterday during the training…
After the shower, my muscles felt a little bit cooled but my breath began to be hotter than normal. Is she going to be sick? Oh no…
I went to my room and change into my uniform and faced the mirror. My skin looked so pale and my lips were dried and dull. Why does she always look sick? I grabbed the hair brush and put my hair up in a ponytail.
That’s better.
My eyes fell to the sight of a small balm on the study desk and so I took it and I knew that it was for the lips.
Tinted balm..?
We had some of these back in my world but it was placed in a small pot like case with a small brush. It was used by most of the people in the palace to color their lips and tint their cheeks. Never knew that it was called make-up since I never had any intention of using it since I was built for war.
I put some tint on her lips as I stared in the mirror and puffed it so I could have more color.
“That’ll do...”
I still feel bad though.
I checked my temperature by my backhand and I feel like the heat wasn’t normal.
I can just drink some analgesics later. I went downstairs and asked dad for some medicine.
“What for? Are you sick?”
He looked worried so I just told him that my muscles just hurt because of the recent trainings. Unfortunately, there was no other meds in the house aside from ibuprofen and this body tells me not to drink it so I just head out to school.
My ride at the bus was so sickening that I even tried to shut my eyes so I wouldn’t get nauseous.
I haven’t felt this way before and I can’t even do anything about it.
The bus ride felt too long that’s why I rushed out of it when it stopped near the school. As I walked on the path before the University, I saw a convenience store nearby so I tried going to it until my vision started to turn a little blurry than before.
I held onto the pole beside the sidewalk and breathe carefully so I could release the tension in my body. I feel so hot and so dizzy... I wanted to vomit...
“Tricia?”
A voice appeared beside me and I knew it was Kyle. I looked at him and immediately his eyes widened and went to wrap an arm on my shoulder and his warm palm laid on my forehead.
“You have a fever,” he frowned at me but in a way which felt warmer in my heart. “You should have just texted me or anyone else in school that are sick and can’t go to school.”
“I thought I’ll be okay...” I whispered and the hot breath escaped from my lips which was so annoying. I think the cold bath made the fever progress even worse.
“I’ll take you home. Can you walk?” he asked never letting go of me.
“Yea. I can manage...”
“Let’s go. I’ll call up a taxi,” he said and I just nodded at him. As I stared at him while we waited for a ride, I noticed how good-looking he was. His brown eyes were all focused on the road and because of that the sun rays kind of made it more brighter. His hair was curly and it looked soft that I wanted to touch it. Are these... My thoughts...?
Kyle looked at me as I did to him and he looked surprised, he blushed a little bit even.
“I-is there something wrong?” He mumbled and I averted my eyes, feeling all flustered.
“Kyle? Tricia?” a woman called near us.
“Ms. Mary,” Kyle greeted and I took an energy to look at her and greet. I feel so tired... I just wanted to lay on his shoulder for a while.
“What happened?” she asked, and I felt her presence rushing to my aid. “Oh my god, she’s burning,” she exclaimed. She then grabbed me lightly and kept me into her arms. She feels warm.
“I’m going to take her home. Go ahead and go to class,” Ms. Mary said and a torn in my heart suddenly erupted. He must attend his class, Triz. Let him go.
“But---” Kyle said but Ms. Mary cuts him off.
“No buts,” she said and I tried glancing at Kyle, he looked kind of... Sad...
“I’m going to visit you later, okay?” Kyle mumbled and I just fell silent. I’m too drained out.
“There’s the taxi...” Kyle said and then the taxi stopped in front of us. The lady and I were about to go in but all of us seemed to be surprised when I noticed my arm held on to Kyle’s uniform.
“Do you want Kyle to come with us?” The lady asked gently and I felt myself nod.
“Okay.”
We then went on to ride the taxi with me in between Ms. Mary and Kyle. I was like being sandwiched with their warmth that it made me feel comfortable.
When the vehicle started to move, I forced my eyes closed and U already had no idea of what is going on.
