Duality of me and her

1198 Words
It's been a month... I have been living in her body for a long time that I am quite forgetting that the body isn't even mine. Apparently, everything has been going well and I have already taken the exam. I got high grades after studying several nights. This body has a photographic memory and it became quite easier to remember the lessons we had on the previous times. Tricia had been appearing more times these past few weeks. She even learned how to talk to her friends without getting all nervous about what she might say and everything. At nights, I sometimes become cleared out and just wake up in the morning, not remembering anything I've done at night. She had been drawing sketches of Kyle again, but this time, it wasn't just about him. She even made portraits of our other friends. It was a nice development that it made me wonder, is this how she really was before she changed or is it the other way around? I pulled out my phone from my pocket to text Kyle and ask him how he is. He’s been absent for two days and I kind of miss him already, or maybe it’s not really me but her, or… us? Kyle and his family went to their grandma at their province and he’ll be there for five days. “I’m going home now. How are you?” I typed and thought of telling him that I miss him so much but deleted it immediately. I put the phone in my pocket and went on to walk. It was a tiring day, we even had a meeting in taekwondo club. I decided to not take the bus and go to the convenience store, walks away from the school--- but a familiar voice stopped me from my tracks. As I looked at a parking lot, I saw Andrei being scolded and pushed by an old man, with the age of what it seemed like his father, or maybe not. Maybe he is just having a taste of his own medicine. I smirked and just turned away but this body suddenly stopped me from going away. Why do you want, Tricia? I asked my mind, feeling annoyed. He’s been hurting you a lot back then, right? Why are you stopping us from leaving! I tried to put out a step but I suddenly felt like I am having a cramp in my feet, enabling me to move. “Damn it kid! Let’s just go home!” I gritted my teeth and tried to move even though it’s not letting me. “Don’t you think there’s a reason to why he is being a bully at school?” The voice in my head echoed her thoughts and she really hard-headed girl. Why would you even care about that? I asked, and after a second there was nothing. I looked at Andrei again and remembered the face of satisfaction he made when he bullied her several times and then looked at him again. He was just standing still as he was being scolded and pointed at by his head. It’s a family matter… We realy don’t have to interfe--- The man suddenly pushed Andrei on the ground and I’ve had enough of it. “Ugh! Goddamit!” I cursed at myself and rushed to where the two was. There’s some other people who saw it but they didn’t try to bother them even if they were older than me. Cowards… I mumbled and suddenly felt bad that I was going to neglect the event too. It made me think of those people in the kingdom who did nothing when my father was being such a cruel man to me. “Hey!” I shouted at the man and he looked at me like I was just a petty insect passing by. I looked at Andrei and his eyes looked like he just saw a ghost of some sort. Surprised? I want to punch him to bits but just pour my anger to the man. “Is he your kid?” I asked and the man frowned at me. “Didn’t your parents teach you not to meddle with other people’s s**t?” he asked, his tone deadly. I ignored his question and just looked at Andrei. “Stand up,” I whispered, enough for my lips to draw out what I said. “Why are you hurting him? What did the kid ever do to you?” I asked him and he laughed as if he was mocking me. “Shut the hell up, kid. Go play with your barbie at your own home.” He turned his back on me and I suddenly ignited my anger--- for just… a little bit. “Weren’t you raised properly?” I asked the man and he just rushed towards me, and I assumed that he was going to hurt me so I stood ready but Andrei rushed to stop his father’s hand when the man was about to hold me. “Leave her out of this dad!” Andrei exclaimed as he held his father’s hand. “You dare speak up to me boy!?” The old man got more furious in an instant and the slap went directly to Andrei’s head. Oh no you didn’t! I pushed the man but his body was strong and buffed up that I didn’t even made him move from where he was standing. “Stop hurting your kid!” I shouted and out of nowhere, a flying kick just sent the man on the floor. MICHAEL! The man landed unconscious because he was hit on the head and I gasped at what just happened. “Are you okay?” Michael faced me and even held me in my arms, checking if I was hurt. His expression was different this time and I can see it in his green bright eyes, he was so worried and even… angry. “Why do you need to meddle on the things that doesn’t even concern you?” He asked furiously and I just stared at him. And this time, it was only me who did, not Tricia… and the feeling was my alone. My lips curled up into a grin as I land a flick on his forehead, making him jolt. “I’m okay, Michael. Thank you…” I giggled. “I wasn’t hurt, the boy is.” I pointed at Andrei and he still looked shocked of what happened. He was just staring at his father who was lying on the hard ground. “He’s not dead, don’t worry.” Michael implied as he surprisingly put and arm on my shoulder to keep me near. Andrei just nodded and I noticed something weird about his reaction, he seemed surprised than despaired of what his father looked like now. Is he being punched and pushed all this time by his own dad? A police officer suddenly came to us and it seemed like someone already called the officers because of the fight that has been going on. But unfortunately, all of us were invited to the precinct since they needed everyone involved. Shit.
