Simulation

    Now our wounds are wrapped, we went to a house where there is more supply. We decided to stay there for now. About the two persons we’d fought, they escaped while shooting us with missiles.

    Ever since we entered the house Nox, the guy with a camera, became silent and looks more serious. I set aside thinking about his behavior and we started to eat for dinner. Myalis was happily eating and still holding her raggedy doll. Since we don’t know how to cook, we only took some ready to eat foods.

    Dinner is ready and Moriah called Nox. After a few minutes, he arrives, still serious face. He sat down beside me and only sat there, he didn’t even touch the food in front of him and only examined his camera.

    “By the way, thank you for saving us, Nox," I said politely.

    “No prob,"

    “You didn’t say you’re a metahuman, specifically, what are your abilities?”

    Still looking at his camera he answered, “I can control molecules of a living thing and changed them to whatever I want. Like this," He said while showing his camera, after a few seconds it becomes a moldable clay and started to change into a g*n.

    “Nice," I said.

    “By the way, this is Moriah, she has super strength while I’m a mentalist," I said while he’s still busy doing whatever on the camera that turned to g*n.

    “And the kid?” He said while turning his g*n back to a camera. The kid stops eating and got shy, nevertheless, she still introduces herself.

    “H-Hi, I’m Myalis," She said shyly and continued to eat.

    “How come you arrived at this place if both of you are metahumans?”

    “Well, Moriah and I escaped from a laboratory named Area 74,"

    I was expecting Nox to throw another question but he stands up as if something is urgent and I felt that something’s wrong. He quickly exited the dining area and went straight out of the house. I wondered why he acts like that and tried to read his mind. Cold breeze immediately traveled to my spine as I realized that I got nothing from reading his mind, in fact, there is literally nothing like he’s not human but that doesn’t make sense he has the same characteristics as ours. I tried a few times but there’s still nothing. I immediately make myself float and follow his faint strides. I heard him opening the front door so I followed him.

    Before the door, there’s a window showing the front porch. I waited for Nox to pass by as he leaves the door open. But neither Nox nor shadows appeared. I made myself float and went to his directions. I passed the door while trying to follow him carefully.

    As I stand in the front door, I saw nothing aside from the dark street and cold breeze of the night. Nothing, Nox was there. I step out of the house completely only to hit by a hard metal, I still manage to block it by my arm but I flew for a few meters away from the door, hitting the wooden wall of the house. Red light illuminated the street while I’m trying to stand up. As I pick up my pace, I saw a humanoid robot with shining red eyes.

    It looks at me saying, “Subjects escaped, retrieved before any damage happens, switching to hunting mode," I look at it while enduring the pain I receive.

    “Nox," I whispered in the cold air.

    I think he’s like one of those humanoid machines I saw they’re making in machinery laboratory when the first time I tried to escape.

    “What are you?” I said as my body complains from all the sore I have.

    “I’m programmed to retrieve specimens 7 and 8," And with shining eyes, it 2 released deadly lasers that everything it landed burned or melted. I immediately covered myself with a force field, it deflects for a few seconds before it starts to penetrate my shield.

    “AAAAH!” I heard Moriah’s shout from afar and saw her coming out from the house, forcefully jumped, and landed towards Nox leaving the ground a large crater.

    In the middle of the dusty crater, Moriah’s body came out. I abruptly flew and catch her unconscious body, looks like she received a fatal attack from Nox. I immediately lay her down and went to the direction where Nox is.

    Before the dust subsides, I released an enormous amount of energy going to the crater. My attack cleared the way seeing Nox be having a hard time standing up. I move my fingers as if I’m taking his heart out of his body. I felt the pain coming from my fingers but that didn’t stop me from peeling his metallic body.

    I took me 2 minutes from wrecking his back when a sonic sound was released from his body, neutralizing my power. My jaw dropped for a moment realizing that my attacks were made of waves and can only be stopped by an opposite wave. He released again another one but more powerful than the last. I desperately made a force field but only disperse, making me dizzy and lost focus.

    I felt the cold wind slapped my face and realizing that I’m already falling. Before I can even move, another sonic wave came from Nox covering my whole body making me vulnerable. I tried to move but the wave he released leashes me making me a motionless statue.

    I watched him approached Moriah who was just about to stand. It runs towards her giving a flying kick, but Moriah was ready and catch him, gripping it so hard that the metallic leg of the robot bents. She forcefully swirls him high in the air but before she can even let go of him, a high voltage of electricity traveled down to his leg was Moriah is holding him. In a few seconds, Moriah electrocuted body was already lying in the ground.

    “Myalis!" Moriah shouted. The kid who’s standing in front of the house, witnesses what was happening

    “Do it now, use your strings!” She said desperately. I was awed to see her still conscious after being electrocuted.

    With the courage in the kid’s face, she threw her doll high in the air, as she became unconscious. The doll landed in the ground like a human with a faint thud and pointed its hand to Myalis’ lifeless body. After that, a small golden string appeared from it and attached to her body. It takes a few minutes before the body was able to move like a string puppet. Then I realized, the doll was controlling Myalis’ body. I was shocked to see her ability; it doesn’t feel like a normal metahuman, I can feel the authenticity of her ability. I can barely conclude that she isn’t a metahuman nor human.

    Myalis’ lifeless body attacked Nox, while both of us, watch the kid have a fight. I felt worried thinking she might get hurt. But before I even can release energy in my body, I felt a sting in my nape only to realize that something is injected in my body. I felt the cold, acidic liquid traveled in my whole body in a short period of time. I tried to stop it but it already attacking my backbone, making me dizzier, and my vision blurry. I saw Myalis doing the best she could to against him, but only be defeated in their fight; my body shakes as I felt the cold liquid occupies my blood vessels, traveling to my brain and before the darkness swallowed my vision I saw a blurry Myalis being thrown out of the open.

    A woman's computer voice was the only thing I’ve heard before I woke up. I felt my body aching from everything that happened. I felt the warm water is where my body floating with an oxygen mask attached to my face. I look at the dark glass posted on the wall, showing my reflection that I’m in a test tube. As I used my ability, I’ve read a lot of minds, they are all rejoicing.
