CHAPTER TWO
400 Words
Alex walked a little and rested behind a huge rock. He woke up feeling something like a rope on his thigh; it was a snake. This startled him as he ran as fast as he could into the forest.
He wasn't supposed to go this far. He stopped and looked at his hand; he had a jet pack, why did he bother running? He quickly turned on the jet pack and zoomed off unsteadily into the air. When he gained balance, he looked down. He was over 150 metres above the forest canopy. ''I never knew riding a jet pack could be this fun! '',he said as he flew along with finches and pigeons.
Everything went well until a pigeon's feather flew into his jet pack engine.
As expected, the jet pack stopped mid-air and he headed straight for the ground. He screamed as he fell into a dry leafless tree. Luckily for him, there was a pile of leaves below the tree. He got up, dusted himself and walked into the forest.
Alex was lost. He kept on walking hoping to find a familiar place that he could use to navigate his house. After walking for five minutes, he opened his bag and drank the soda as he lay on the forest floor.
He regretted ever coming out for the hiking trip; every single bit of it. He sobbed as he tried to pick his bag and get some cookies but his hand was stopped by something. It was an old book.
The book contained a story about a boy stranded in a forest just like him. As the story had very little details, Alex failed to notice that he was the boy in the story.
Alex was really determined to finish the story in the book .Only if he had a pen. He looked around and found a pen on the ground. ''This pen wasn't here when I stopped'', he said to himself. Clouded by his determination to finish the story, he picked it up and started writing. He had always imagined himself in an enchanted world and so he thought it would be nice if he added a scene where the boy in the story would be in an enchanted forest. When he was done writing, he received the shock of his life.
