  The Meridian board is eight people.   Seven men and one woman, mid fifties to late sixties, the kind of room that has been making decisions the same way for twenty years and has the particular resistance of something that works well enough and sees no compelling reason to work differently.   Gerard Foss is at the head of the table.   He looks at me when I walk in with Priya and Saoirse and something in his face settles. Recognition. The specific settling of a man who took a risk on something new and is reassured to see it arriving confidently.   I set up in four minutes.
