Chapter 2

Brooklynne’s POV “Martin! What the hell man?!” I walked over, picked his shirt up off the floor and threw it to him. He smirked and slid his shirt back on, while my mother shook her head and headed to the kitchen. “What? I figured yall would be gone longer, plus, Mia was here looking for you.” Martin said, not looking the least bit ashamed. At that, I turned and looked at a sheepish looking Mia. Her thick black hair was ratted and wild, framing her face. Her lips were swollen and cheeks were hot with embarrassment and lust. Gross. I know that her and my brother have messed around a few times in the past couple of months, but it’s still gross to think of her shacking up with my brother. “Well it looks like she stopped looking for me somewhere between the door and your tongue in her mouth.” I said as I smirked at her. Mia has been my best friend since we were kids. She was born a few months after me, making her only 20 until the day after Christmas. Then hopefully she will find her mate and stop locking lips with my disgusting brother. Maybe I’m biased, but she can do so much better. “You staying for supper M?” I asked, throwing a decorative pillow at her. She caught it with ease and laughed, throwing it back at me. “I wasn’t going to, but how can I turn it down now? After you asked so nice?” “Then what were you here for?” I asked as I picked the living room back up and straightened everything back out. “I wasn’t coming to see what you were wearing for Monday? I wanted to match. I thought we could go shopping together?” She said as we made our way to the kitchen. “You know how I am Mia, I’m not the big dinner type. I would much rather stay home. I wouldn’t be going at all if it wasn’t for having to deliver the cake” “Come on Brookie, you never do any of this with me, and I always have to hang out with Jessica and her friends, and you know I can’t stand Jessica and her friend. Please?” I turned to look at her as I helped set the table. Of course. She’s giving me those big brown puppy dog eyes. I sighed. Instantly a smile took over Mia’s face. She knew she had won. “Okay I’ll go, but I’m not dressing up all crazy like you do. I only want to wear something simple. I’ll stay for a little bit, and then I’m leaving. Annnd! You have to help me deliver the cake!” At that, Mia squealed and hugged me. “Anything you say, you got it!” After that we sat down and had supper. We all helped mom clean up after dinner, said our goodbyes, and headed back to the pack house. The pack house was quiet going in, it was late and mostly everyone was quieted down. Anyone still up and wanting to party knew to do that by the lake in the woods. Out of respect for our elders, we didn’t do much partying here in the house. We walked in and headed up the stairs. The first floor was for all the young teens that were staying here. The second floor was for the alpha and Luna of the pack, the third floor was for the kids of the Alpha, Beta, and Gammas. I waved goodnight to Mia and fake gagged as I seen her and Martin slink off into his room. Good thing they were across the wing from me. I turned and opened my door and headed into my room. My room was big, it was more like a fancy hotel suite. As soon as you entered the door, to the left there was a mini kitchen and a little island bar. To the right there was a little den area with a tv and a couch. And straight ahead was the actual bedroom part. I walked in and shut the door, placing my coat and my purse onto the counter and taking my hair down. I slipped off my shoes and tucked them by the door before heading to the back of my room where my bathroom was. Once I was in the bathroom I turned on the water and started brushing my teeth. My teeth were kind of big actually, something I used to be insecure about. But the rest of my features were pretty. I had a slender button nose, my lips were thick and a deep red. Like my eyes, I also got those traits from my mother. My pale skin had freckles dusted across it lightly on my cheek bones and the tops of my shoulders, while my hair was incredibly long and a deep caramel color with natural blonde highlights. I was average by height, 5’6”. My body was well developed though, I was blessed in the front and the back. I had tattoos covering my skin here and there. Humming birds behind my ear and the back of my neck. Flowers growing up my left ankle and a few more in-between, hidden in better places. I finished brushing my teeth and rinsed the sink out. I brushed my long hair, stripped out of my clothes and climbed into the shower. Today was exhausting. I can only imaging how the rest of the weekend would go with the events coming up. The banquet was a big deal for our pack. The future Alpha and Beta of the Amethyst Pack were returning home. They had completed their training and were ready to come back and take their places in the pack. I washed my hair, and my face, I worked my way down my body and rinsed off. I’m so tired. I s**t the water off and grab my towel from the rack. I wrap my towel around my body and step out of the tub and onto my mat. Keeping the towel wrapped around my body, I wrap another around my hair and walk out of my bathroom and into my room. I go to my dresser beside my bed, pick me out a pair of my favorite pajama shorts and my sports bra and get dressed. After I get dressed I go back to my dresser and apply my lotions and deodorant. I do not like to stink, and as a wolf, we sweat quite a bit. After finishing up, I pull back my queen size black and pink duvet and climb into bed. I paid good money for my bed, and this is exactly why. After a lot of standing up on my feet all day, when I get home and into bed, I want to be laying in Nirvana. Not some uncomfortable bundle of fabric and metal coils. Mom and Martin always said I was dramatic, but dad understood. ———————- My alarm is blasting. I hate how fast the morning comes. I lean up and wipe my hair from my face, reaching over and shutting off my alarm before it caused a headache. 4:00. Ugh. Throwing the blankets back I sling my feet over the side of the bed and stand up, stretching high and letting out a loud yawn. I head straight to the bathroom, and after peeing and washing my hands, I brush my teeth and wash my face. I head back out of the bathroom and brush my hair before putting it into a nice French braid. I remove my night clothes and but on a fresh sports bra and more deodorant. I open my drawer, grab a new pair of panties and slip them on. Then I slide a pair of biker shorts on and socks. This early in the morning I don’t go to the bakery, in order to be a fit and strong Gamma, I have to train just like the rest of the warriors in the pack. I go to the mini fridge in the room, grab a bottle of water, and slip my trainers on from beside the door. I grab my coat and head out the door. Walking out of my room and down the hall I pass Mia’s room. I knock on the door and I hear her mumble something so I continue on my way. I know she will meet me down there, she’s not a morning person either. I pass Jessica’s room and at the very end before the stairs come into view, is the future Alphas room. His room is bigger than all of our rooms and it takes up that whole side of this floor. I pass his room and hurry down the stairs. I take them two at a time, passing other pack member who are up early starting their days as well. I get to the bottom of the stairs and I stop. My wolf suddenly feels on edge. ‘What is it Ivy?’ I ask her. ‘I’m not sure. I smell something. We have to find it.’ She says, very focused and alert. ‘Well whatever it is will have to wait. We are very busy today. No time for wild goose chases’ I scolded and continued on my way. Several movers were on the main floor, carrying in boxes and totes full of things into the pack house and up the stairs. I walk passed them and out the big doors, heading for the woods. “Brooklynne! Please come see me for a moment before you take off.” I turn around instantly and bow my head slightly. There on the steps of the pack house stood our Luna. “Luna Cassidy, of course. What can I do for you?” Luna Cassidy gently grabbed my arm and pulled me to her. “Oh enough, just Cassidy is fine and you know that! But thank you. Anyways, I was hoping my daughter would be with you. I guess she hasn’t risen from the dead yet?” Cassidy smiled at me with a knowing look. Everyone knows Mia hates being up before the sun. “I woke her up on my way down. She said something about meeting me in the field. Is there something I can do instead?” I asked. Luna Cassidy and Alpha Camden have always been like family. Them and my parents were very close so I never minded volunteering to help when I could. “Actually yes, if you don’t mind? The movers of the pack have just returned from the university with Connor and Joshua’s things. Can you keep an eye on everything and make sure it gets where it’s supposed to?” She looked at me apologetically. “I hate to put to much on your hands, I know your plenty busy as it is. I can ask..” I cut her off “No, honestly Luna, I love to help. Consider it done. I’ll get everything unpacked and put away. You have nothing to worry about!” She smiled gratefully at me, nodded her head, handed me the keys to their room’s and walked off. ‘Looks like our weekend just got a lot busier.’ Ivy said.
