CYRENIA The bathwater smelled like lavender. I hated lavender. I took the loofa and lathered it up with the vanilla soap. It wasn’t the nice kind of vanilla. It was the kind that took over my nostrils, making me feel like I was gagging on the scent. I scrubbed my body with its awful smell, despite my senses begging me not to. I had no choice.
