The rising sun turned the sky orange, cool breeze blew in from the north causing a slight chill in the air. Ifeanyi jogged down the street, pausing every few minutes to catch his breath. He loved jogging in the early hours of the morning just before dawn broke, that was when true beauty emerged. The sight of the sky during daybreak could not be compared to anything. He raised his face up to the wind as he jogged, enjoying the smell of earth and trees.
He had picked this area to reside in because of nature, there were a lot of trees and bushes surrounding the place and at the time he had wanted to feel in tune with nature. Though there was the occasional snakes, wild rodent and bugs that made people shy away from the vicinity but to him, they only made the place look more natural. He was so lost in his surroundings he didn't hear the pounding of footsteps behind him till the person caught up to him.
"Hello neighbour," came a voice from beside him.
He turned, only to see Katrina grinning at him with sweat running down her face.
"Whoa," she breathed, "you're a hard man to catch up to. Isn't this supposed to be jogging, why are you so fast and you're not even sweating," she commented and he rolled his eyes.
It had taken her two days to approach him again after she had moved in, he was starting to hope she wouldn't bother him.
"Have you given a thought to my offer?" she asked.
"I wasn't aware there was an offer," he replied dryly.
"Well since it seems to have escaped your mind, I'll tell you again. It's a movie called Time Jump and the producer wants you in it. It's the first Nollywood science fiction and I'll once again reiterate the fact that you'll be working with me," she ended with a sparkly smile.
He stopped jogging and turned to face her, this time she was wearing a grey spandex crop top that showed off her flat tummy with matching grey tights and Nike joggers.
Does this woman ever feel cold?
"And working with you is somehow supposed to be a novelty?"
She chuckled slightly and moved closer to him, she ran a finger down his neck to his chest.
"Don't you want to be in the movie with me?" she whispered with a seductive smile on her face, "we'll have so much fun together, promise," she pouted her lips in a kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, she tried to kiss him. He grabbed her hands and pushed her away.
"Nice try but the answer remains the same, I'm not interested and don't ever pull this kind of stunt on me again."
He left her there and continued jogging. She sure had some nerves trying to kiss him with that filthy mouth of hers after what she had done to him in the past. Katrina had tried to seduce him in the past, she had come on to him in his dressing room once and he had rebuffed her advances. He had a fiancée and they were getting married in two months, he he hadn't been keen on doing anything to jeopardize his relationship.
But Katrina had come on to him again, this time not to seduce him into getting any producer to give her a role but to punish him for rejecting her. She had kissed him full on the lips at his engagement party, in front of all his guests and his fiancée. His marriage had almost been called off, the scandal it caused had given Katrina her rise to fame.
He had hated her for it, now after almost four years since the incident he realised he still harboured ill feelings towards her. He had forgotten about her but now she was back to disrupt his life with her presence again. Ironically, she needed his help once again and she seemed to have forgotten all the trouble she caused him.
