There was a loud ringing in her ears and a pressure on her chest. She sat up and groaned in pain, her eyes were blurry and she blinked. She knew she was dreaming and tried to wake up but her consciousness was submerged. She had to go through the motions. Her vision cleared and she stared at the house engulfed in flames. Tears streamed down her face as she got up. She stood on shaky legs and could feel the blood trickle down the side of her head. Her legs moved, she tried to stop it, stop herself from going in but it was like she’d lost all motor functions of her body. Someone else was in control. “Aliyah!” she yelled.
