Chapter 2: The regretful aftermath

Evangeline "Your mother cannot find out about this." Gavin muttered as he lifted me up and directed me to shed my clothes. I quickly shed my clothes, fearing that even a nanosecond of contemplation would alter my decision about the impending event. Gavin's movements as he took off his clothes were quick and clumsy. In less than a minute, we were out of our clothes, and I was lowering my body to his again, eyes shut, mind straying to the heartbreaking sight of Luke boarding that plane and leaving me forever. I should have been holed up with him in his little studio apartment, eating ramen noodles and picking out the perfect venue for our wedding reception and the best country for our honeymoon. "f**k, Eva. You're so f*****g tight. Sure, you've done this before?" Only twice, with Luke. I wanted to blurt out, but I could only manage a nod. I rocked against Gavin's thigh for several moments as I tried to get him to fit into me, even though I was drier than the desert. "Open your mouth," Gavin commanded, after three more unsuccessful tries. I obeyed and watched him slide two long fingers into my mouth, swirling them around until they got wet with my mouth's moisture. I couldn't help the moan that escaped my throat at the action. Gavin's smile was smug as his eyes met mine. "You really like that, don't you?" Instead of answering, I grabbed his arm, pulling his finger out of my mouth and directing it towards my heat. "Filling me up with your c**k is what I'd like more." Our gazes stayed locked as I said those words. Gavin's reply was an instant growl that reverberated through me. "You are a f*****g dream, Eva. Do you know that? A wild, sexy f*****g dream." This time, my smile wasn't forced. Gavin didn't need to know that I had a praise kink. I moved Gavin's fingers around my folds, sliding the two digits against my c**t once and then twice. I shut my eyes and imagined that it was Luke's fingers teasing me... Readying me. Tears formed behind my closed lids, wetting my lashes. I was never going to experience Luke's touch again. I was never going to see that lopsided smile that I'd come to love so much again. "You feel so f*****g good." Gavin groaned. "I made a mistake." He panted. "I think I married the wrong Thatcher." "No, you married the right one." I smirked as I pulled his hand out and lined my body against his shaft. I would never marry someone like Gavin. He was Mother's choice, not mine. As my body slowly began to suck him in, those traitorous tears returned, tracing a path down my face. I wiped furiously at them as Gavin began to pound into me from underneath. His greedy eyes were on my n*****s, his hands roaming the smooth planes of my stomach. "Yes, f**k Eva. Your tight little cunt is what I've been missing all my life." In a second, Gavin was pulling us both up and pushing me against his desk. In my drunken haze, I almost face-planted against the smooth wooden surface but broke my impending fall with my elbow, my back arching in the process. Gavin's second penetration was swifter, easier, and less discomforting. He wasted no time, pounding hard, his thigh slapping against my ass cheeks. My n*****s rubbed against the cold wooden desk; the accidental action heightened my pleasure, and my breath left me in soft, helpless gasps. "f*****g hell, Eva. I'm close." I shut my eyes as Gavin froze behind me and unloaded his seeds into me. I stilled too, trying to catch my breath as Gavin's weight landed on me. Breathless and in desperate need of air myself, I pushed him off me and stepped away, picking up my clothes where they lay discarded. That little workout had certainly worked the edges of that alcohol off, and I was more sober than I was a few minutes ago. I tried not to think about what I had just done as I tried to make myself look decent again. When I turned around, I found Gavin in his chair, those uninteresting brown eyes beseeching mine with a desperation I had never seen in their depths. "Oh, Eva. I would give the entire world to have you completely to myself. Name all the things you've ever wanted, and I'll offer them to you." I shook my head as I broke eye contact, trying to look everywhere but at the man who had married my mom six months ago. The same man who had been inside me moments ago. I just had my little revenge. Wasn't I supposed to feel satisfied? Happy, even? What, then, was this sadness that I couldn't quite shake off and the shame that felt like something I was never going to be able to outrun? "You could squeeze the entire universe into a ball in your palm and hand it to me, Gavin, but this…" I spat, pointing at the space between us. It is never going to happen again. Where had I gotten the balls to talk to the richest man in Florida like that? "Come on." Gavin smirked, relaxing more comfortably against his chair. "You enjoyed that, didn't you? Your mother doesn't have to know. It'll remain between us. Let this be our secret little adventure." "No, Gavin. I won't ever feel adventurous with you. You're my stepfather, not my f**k buddy." I didn't wait for a reply but ran out of his study, ignoring his pathetic little attempt at calling me back. I didn't allow myself to fall apart until I was in the safety of my room, door securely locked. Only then did I allow myself to crumble to the floor, tears falling in torrents down my face as my chest ached from the pain of Mom's betrayal and the obscenity of my own actions. What a pathetic, dirty loser I was. How had f*****g Gavin been revenged if Mother was never going to find out about it? What had I done? Sleep met me on the floor, curled up into myself. Cheeks wet with the evidence of my own tears. Despite how cold the marbled floor was, I refused to draw warmth from the comfort of the bed. When a loud pounding on my door sounded several hours later, I stood up and went to answer, wincing at the mind-numbing headache the loud noise had just helped intensify. Who would dare pounce on my door in such a manner so early in the morning? Was it Gavin? Was he here to offer me a second universe? I grabbed the door and pulled it open, expecting to find Gavin on the other side. Instead, it was Mother who stood at the other side, her unseeing green eyes filled with copious tears. The blood froze in my veins as I realized Mom's tears could only mean one thing. She knew. "Mom, are you okay?" "Do I look okay to you?" Mother screamed, her perfectly manicured fingers going to her hair, those slender digits gripping her long brown locks. I swallowed hard and wondered whether she was going to send her minions after me this time to kill me. Had Gavin really told on me because I'd refused to make our s****l encounter a regular thing? "Mom, if it's about last night, I—" "My husband's dead, Eva!" she cried. Her body crumbled to the ground as a grievous whimper escaped her blood-painted lips. "Evangeline, your stepfather is gone."
