Roxie and Dreams

After our shower we both get dressed in pjs and notice that it's 3 am and decide to peek outside through the office window. Most of the party goers have either gone to the guest houses, left, or gone to bed. There was maybe 25 people still outside when i looked and my mom was one of them,

'an Alpha's work is never done' she used to tell me when i was little. She was walking telling the omegas what to do, and telling some of the teens to go to bed. She mind-linked me as i see her glance up to my apartment

 Did you have a good night? Was your 18th birthday everything you wanted it to be?' she asks extra sweetly.

'and so much more' i told her 'me and Mitch are going to bed now, i love you, mom. Please dont stay up all night. Get some rest, okay?' 

'yes MOM' she jokingly links me 'i love you too hun. Good luck getting any extra sleep in the morning, I hear Mitch is an early riser' she links me while looking up at the window with a wink.

'OMG MOM' i link her shacking my head and cutting the link.

"What was all that?"Mitch asks with his eyebrows raised. 

"My mom told me you were an early riser" I say with a chuckle. 

"Well yeah!" He says pulling me back to the bedroom "i am always up around 5 am for a good run and training" he says pulling me into bed with him. 

"I only walk up early for school." I tell him planting a kiss on his lips "besides that, all my running and training is at night." I say poking his chest with my finger. 

"Oh I can give you extra exercise in the mornings if you want." He says wiggling his eyebrows up and down

"We'll see" I tell him with a wink. I roll over and turn off the lights and pull the covers up. As I snuggle into Mitch on the bed I think about all the stuff that happened today and how amazing life is going to be as Alpha, Mitch's mate and all the happiness that it'll bring for our pack. There's something gnawing at me that I just can't put my finger on. I try to figure it out as I drift off to sleep and pulled into another dream.

As I wake up in my dreams I see Roxie and gasp. She's about 6 and a half feet tall, muscular with silver eyes like mine and a silver coat that shines like the moonlight. I have never seen a wolf like her before, and my first shift will be interesting to see how my pack reacts to seeing what my wolf looks like. 

"Hi Kiri,"she says to me, smiling. "We have some serious things to discuss while i have your undivided attention." She says sitting on her back paws. Sitting down she's as tall as me, if she was standing on her hind legs she must be almost 11 feet tall. 

"Okay,so what's going on?" I ask her sitting cross legged in front of her "the world ending or something like that?"

"Or something like that," she says to me laying her head down onto my legs. Man she's heavy even in a dream world. 

"I think it's time you hear a story of the wolves and witches." She says as her eyes cloud over. I get engrossed in the swirling silver gray clouds and my mind is linked to her where I am watching a story as if it was a movie or on tv.

'Once long ago' I heard in Roxie's soothing voice: 'there was a great war between light and dark witches and wizards. The light witches wanted to help humans and wolves get along and for everyone to live in harmony. The dark witches wanted to rule over humankind and make them slaves and wanted wolves to do experiments on and have as guard dogs.' me and Roxie both growled at this 'the leader of the dark witches and wizards was named Corbaten. He was the most ruthless,evil and conniving wizard of them all. A group of 3 witches and a wizard formed an alliance with a wolf pack to help take down Corbaten many years ago. The battle was great and both sides suffered. Ultimately Corbaten and his evil forces were destroyed by a great witch and an Alpha wolf. As soon as the battle was over the great witch and the wolf realized they were mates. A forbidden love that wasn't meant to be. However due to their heroics the goddess blessed their relationship. As the years went by the wolf and the witch had 2 children together. A boy who was full of magick like his mother and a girl who was a full wolf like her father. The goddess came to the wolf and the witch in a dream after their daughter was born with this warning;

 be wary, for the darkness seeks to rise again. 

Your daughters, daughter shall have the powers of both wolf and witch and be more powerful than any. 

She will be a wolf as silver as a full moon and as powerful as Merlin.

Your bloodline will be the one to send the darkness back to the depths of hell.'

I was pulled out of the trance and completely confused. 

"Cool story, but what does this have to do with me?" I ask her as she sits up to look me in the eyes.

"Don't you get it?" She says grumpily

"Uh no."i say stupidly

"You're grandmother Glenda was a mortal who had 2 kids with a wolf." She says glaring at me. 

"So what? That happens all the time." I say with a wave of my hand not liking where this conversation is going. 

"Really?" She says, full of attitude.

"Your grandfather was the best alpha in all the lands, and your grandmother never looks a day over 40, why is that?" She asks me accusingly.

"Good genes?" I say with a shrug

"She's a witch! It's how she's stayed alive for so long, just so she could teach. You." She says, emphasizing the last word.

I sigh in defeat. 

"Ok so what if you're right. What do I do? How long do I have?" 

I ask her.

"First you need to talk with your mother, then you need to train with your pack and study with your grandmother." She says matter of factly. 

"And i don't know the answer to the second one." She shrugs her shoulders. 

"Ugh.OK. but i have a question for you" i point my finger at her. "When will be our first shift?"

"Oh!" She says excitedly. "We will get to do that with Mitch and his wolf tonight. I can't wait to meet him!" She says bouncing up and down on her paws.

She looks up into the sky of the dream then back at me "well it seems like it's time for you to wake up, I'll see you tonight!"she says as she stands up and walks away.
