“A what?” I stutter out at him, not believing my ears. He doesn't say anything but instead opens the door to Kiri’s hospital room. She's laying on a bed with a blanket covering her legs and her stomach exposed. She's talking with a nurse who seems to be doing an ultrasound.
Kiri is smiling brightly but it doesn't seem to reach her eyes. the little screen on her right that seems to show a small little blob in the middle. I slowly walk over to her and she reaches out and grabs my hand without removing her eyes from the picture. “It’s only a week old.” she says to me as she holds my hand. I’m still processing what the Doctor told me. Kiri sends me a link ‘I’m terrified.
