Dusk was setting in and soon it would be pitch dark, Blake was walking home from her afternoon work as a secretary. Balancing school and working for the alpha was hard work, but she needed the money to be able to afford tuition and essentials. She managed well since she still lived at home with her parents, they were grateful she was still there as their older daughter had met her mate and moved away. Blake was talking on the phone when she heard something rustle in the brush nearby.
“Hold on Titus, I think I heard something.”Blake looked around and sniffed the air to get a sense of what it could be.
“You should run home Blake, I don’t want you out alone in the dark.” Titus sounded worried.
Blake sniffed some more and scrunched her nose, “you’re right Titus, I think I smell rogues.”
