Chapter 3
A Familiar Face
Clara balanced a tray of drinks and navigated the crowded restaurant, her mind still lingering on her art. As she approached a table, her gaze met a familiar face - Prospero Miguel, the man who had commented on her online art post. Her heart skipped a beat.
"Hi," he said, flashing a charming smile. "I'm Prospero. We met online, sort of. I commented on your art piece, 'Echoes in the Dark'."
Clara's eyes widened. "You're the one who wanted to buy it!"
Prospero nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I did. I do. I'd love to discuss it further, if you're interested."
Clara's mind raced. This was the man who had seen her art, who had taken the time to comment and show interest. She felt a spark of hope, a sense of connection.
As she took his order and delivered his food, they chatted about art, creativity, and inspiration. Prospero was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate about the art world. Clara found herself opening up, sharing her dreams and fears.
As the evening wore on, Prospero asked for her number, wanting to discuss her art further. Clara hesitated, unsure if she was ready for this level of exposure. But something about Prospero's warm smile put her at ease.
"Okay," she said, scribbling her number on a napkin. "But warning, I'm a bit of a creative mess."
Prospero chuckled, tucking the napkin into his pocket. "I like messy. It's where the magic happens."
As he left the restaurant, Clara felt a flutter in her chest. Who was this man, and what did he want from her? She couldn't help but wonder if their connection would lead to something more.
