Clara Jacklin sat nervously in the gallery, her portfolio open to her most prized pieces. The art dealer, a man with a reputation for discovering new talent, flipped through her work with a mix of disdain and boredom.
"I'm afraid your art isn't quite what we're looking for, Clara," he said, his voice dripping with condescension. "It's...different. Unconventional. We need something more...commercial."
Clara's heart sank, but she refused to give up. "Please, just give me a chance. I'll do anything to get my art out there. I'll work with you to make it more commercial, I'll take feedback, I'll—"
The dealer raised a hand, interrupting her pleading. "Clara, we appreciate your enthusiasm, but we can't take on every struggling artist who walks through our door. You need to understand that the art world is tough, and only the best make it."
