Pinecones in the Evergreens, sounded like a good a place to start and relaxing was now my middle name. I deserved to relax or at least pretend to be human, for a little while.
Twenty minutes felt more like forty five, my patience was beginning to run thin, and I think I may have tapped out half a dozen rock songs on my leg.
If that wasn't enough, I must have pinched my arms at least half a dozen times. My skin was so red and inflamed, I thought for a moment, my arm might fall off.
At this point, I can't be held liable, if I started singing freaking Opera.
If it helped to keep my eyelids from drooping, it would be well worth the embarrassment of it all, not that anyone would ever find out. Rolling my eyes, I continued to stare out into the dark road ahead. Out here, there was only the light of the moon to guild you, and well, of course street signs.
I can't lie, I was close to the edge of pure exhaustion and if I had to smack myself in the leg one more time, I was going to freaking scream, I'd have to plead insanity!
Thankfully, my turn off finally came into view.
Clinging to my stirring wheel my knuckles turned white, as I was holding it so tight. God i was just so tired, I must have been driving for over ten hours now. I needed rest asap before I had to make anymore rash decisions. As a small curve in the road ahead grew near so did a green and white sign.
In reflective bright lettering, the words, Pinecones in the Evergreen came into view, ten miles ahead. Could I even make it another ten miles? Mumbling a few choice words under my breath, I pushed through, had too. Hot shower, warm bed, food. I repeated those four words in my head until my exit came up.
I pressed my foot gently on the break, letting off the gas and slowly made my turn which turned off onto a dirt road.
Following it around, I passed a row of apple trees, a sign pointed towards the orchard. Hen's eggs and apples. I high beams barely caught the reflexive white letters of the sign on the right of the lane.
I assumed out here, you had to follow the glow of the moon to find your way in the night, either that or have a good set of headlights to light the way. I bet the stars were endless here, from what I could see, they were spread out like a blanket of sparkly glittery luminescence.
With the partial cloud cover looming above, I couldn't see a whole lot but when it cleared you bet I would be the first to step out in the cold night and rest in the solace.
Pine trees began to peak infront of my high beams as my little green Jeep climbed the slow incline up into the mountains.
Just a few more miles to go and I would be beneath a waterfall of hot steaming water cascading over my tired nude body, enjoying the chill, as I stepped out onto a cold moisture dotted wood floor. Awe, it would be heaven.
