Chapter 4- The First Date

— Hey Alice, I need to get ready. Would you like to watch some cartoons in my room, while I shower?

—Yes. Can I choose?

— Of course, you can.

We went upstairs into my room. She sat on the bed and we found the cartoon she wanted to watch. I went downstairs to get her bag. It’s sometimes much colder in the city, so we might need to change her clothes. 

I came back with her bag, put it on the armchair in the corner, and went into the bathroom to take a shower. As soon as I was done, I got out and patted myself dry. Then did my skincare, applied deodorant, and lotion. I put on my robe and went into the closet. I put on a pair of black underwear with the matching bra. Then I found my black tights and put those on. I decided to go with my black leather pants and a black sweater with a v-cut. I took out my black coat, black scarf, and black middle-heeled boots and took all of those to the bedroom. When Alice saw me she said.

— Melli, You look so beautiful. I want to look like you.

— You do?

— Yes. 

— Ok, let's see if there is anything like this in your bag. — I took the bag and went through it and found her black leather pants and a nice pink sweater.— Baby, there are matching pants, but look at this sweater. Isn’t it's beautiful? 

— I guess. 

— Do you want to put it on now?

— Yes.— She exclaimed happily.

— OK, come here. And you know we can buy you a black sweater today. 

— Yay. 

I changed her into the new outfit. After which I left her to watch some more TV, while I was doing my hair and makeup.

I dried my hair and did one of my favorite hairstyles: half up- half down. Then I applied some concealer, brown eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara, eyebrow gel, and nude lipstick. I went back to the bedroom, opened my jewelry case, took out some gold hoops, a chain bracelet, and three necklaces. One was short with my name engraved, the second had diamonds and was a little bit longer, and the last one much longer with a big beautiful coin. I put my Apple Watch on and sprayed my Dior perfume and Alice decided she wanted that too, so I sprayed some on her as well. After that, I did her hair into a nice high ponytail. I went back to the closet and got my black BALENCIAGA bag, put my wallet, my phone, the extra charger, AirPods, gum, lipstick, tissues, and my sunglasses case in it. After which I found my matcha green everyday tote from BEIS and put all of Alices’ essentials in it. I also put a black blanket in there, in case she takes a nap, while we walk around the city. I put on my boots and my scarf and my sunglasses. After that, I got her, the bags, and the coats and went downstairs. I left our coats by the door, as well as my bag. Then we went to the kitchen to get her some snacks. She chose some and I put those in the bag. As I was doing that, I got a call from security. Theo was here. We quickly went to the front door. I helped Alice put on her coat, then I put mine on. I opened the door and Theo was standing right there. 

— Hey baby. You look beautiful.

— Thanks.— I smiled.

Theo bent down to Alice and said.

— You, little one, look very pretty as well.

— Thanks. —she giggled.

He took the stroller to put in the trunk, while I went to the garage to get Alice’s extra car seat. He put that in the car as well. While he was doing that, I took the bags and Alice’s hand and closed the door with my keys. I took her to the car, which was a Range Rover Sport, and tucked her in her seat. I put her bag by her side and climbed into the passenger’s seat, while Theo climbs into the driver’s. We drove Downtown, and were able to find a parking spot on one of the busiest streets. There are so many shops and cafes here. And my favorite coffee shop is also around the corner. Theo parked the car, and we both got out. He went to get the stroller for Alice, and I opened the door to get her out. I put her bag under her stroller.

— Hey baby, do you want to ride or walk?

— I want to ride now.

— Okay.

Theo locked the car, while I buckled Alice in the stroller. As it was chilly, I took the blanket from the bag and put it over her to keep her warm. We walked into the coffee shop and found a table in front of the window. We sat there. Me and Alice on one side, Theo in front of us. The waitress came over and we ordered our drinks. I got a hot chocolate for Alice and an almond milk latte for myself. Theo decided to go with the same. While we were waiting, Alice was playing with my phone, and we were talking. Soon the waitress returned with our drinks.

— Here you go.

— Thanks.

—Thank you.

— You two have such a cute baby.

— Oh no. She is my cousin. We are babysitting.

— Oh. Sorry. I thought she was yours. She looks very much like you.

— It’s ok. A lot of people say that. 

We sat there talking about different things. Our plans, dreams, hopes, fears, the life that we have envisioned, our families, and what they were like, what growing up with them was like. An hour passed, and we decided to leave the place. But before we would leave I excused myself to go to Lady’s room, and took Alice with me. While we were in there, Alice looked at me seriously and asked.

— Melli?

— Yes?

— Is Theo your boyfriend?

— He is. Do you like him?

— He is nice.

— That he is. Now let’s go. We don’t want to make him wait for too long, do we?

— No.

When we got out of the restroom, Theo was by the door waiting for us. I helped Alice put her coat on, and her hat, and then Theo helped me with my coat. We went outside and walked around for some time. Soon Alice got tired and sat in the stroller. About 20 minutes later she was asleep. We toured the city and talked for hours. We did get some orange cinnamon tea while we were walking. I showed Theo my favorite places downtown. Then Alice woke up from her nap and she was hungry, so we went to get some lunch. The rest of the day we spent shopping for Alice, going to the Christmas market for a short time, and checking out the street lights when going back home.

When we got there, Alice was very sleepy, so I decided to take her upstairs to sleep. I changed her into her pajamas and tucked her in. Then I went to my room and took off my boots. A few minutes later, I went downstairs to Theo. I found him in the kitchen looking for something.

— Hey.

— Hey. Is she asleep?

— Yeah. What are you looking for?

— Corkscrew for wine.

— The far-left drawer.

He opened it and found what he was looking for. He opened the wine and I got two glasses from the cabinet. We went to sit in the living room and Theo poured wine into the glasses. We sat down continuing to talk about everything and anything. I cannot explain this, but when I am by his side I feel complete. And I know that it is bizarre to think like that when I have met this man only 24 hours ago. Spending the night and the day together, talking about everything, getting to know each other. 24 hours was all it took for me to fall for him. 

We sat there talking about our families.

— So I have 4 siblings. Two sisters and two brothers. I am the second child. The first one is Tessa. She is the best sister one could ask for. She is the best human I know. She has her own business. She always wanted to be a businesswoman, but she never wanted to take over the family corporation, so when she was 21 she opened her first business, a modeling company.

— Wait, are you talking about Tessa Austin.

— Tessa White Austin. My older sister. 

— I didn’t think you two were connected. 

— Yeah. She got married at 22 and she has been going with her husband’s name after that. Bernard, her husband is a doctor, a surgeon. They have two kids, Eleanor and Spencer. 

— You know, Tessa has been like a role model for me. How she operates a multimillion-dollar corporation while taking care of her kids. I always wanted to be like her. You said you had 3 other siblings tell me about them as well.

— Alright, Patrick is 20 years old and he wants to go into politics. Olivia is 17. She is already modeling and acting. That’s the path that she has chosen. And there is also Hugo. He is 15 and in love with science. So there is only me, who will be willing to take over my dad in the family business. Well, my dad’s name is Edward and my mom's is Hayley. While dad has been working as the CEO, mom has been doing charity for as long as I can remember. That’s all about my family, now you tell me about you.

— Alright. I have 1 sister, Mabel. She is 13 and she is thinking about going after our mom and being a doctor. As you understand, my mom, Anastasia is a surgeon, my dad, Sebastian, is a lawyer. There comes my idea of the future. Because I don’t have many siblings, I have grown up with my cousins. The oldest is Harvey, Cristal’s boyfriend. He 25, a chef. There is Annabelle, his sister. She is 21 and she is studying marketing. Vincent, 18, is an IT major in our university. Alice is his sister, but Vin is not in the country right now. He will be back in a few days. Alice is 3. There are also Nina and Simon, Alexander, and Nicholas. Nina is 18, studying international affairs. Simon is 16 and he is into science. I think he and your brother Hugo will have a lot to talk about. Alexander is 19. He is studying IT as well. And he is now doing a semester abroad, so you won’t be able to meet him. Nicholas is 16 and he is going to study engineering. I think that’s all. Wait. Cristal is very soon going to become my cousin-in-law. 

— Wow. You have a lot of family members.

— I do. And talking about family. I know it is very early to ask this, but what are you going to do on New Year’s Eve?

— Nothing in particular. But I am not leaving until the 2nd. I will go to see my siblings. 

— That is so nice. Ok, as you are free, I presume, would you like to come with me to my family gathering?

— I would love to. But I have to ask you something as well.

— Ok?

— Would you like to accompany me to meet my family when I leave? I am going to meet yours on New Years', so maybe you would like to meet mine?

— I would love to.— I kiss him.— Come on it's getting late. Let’s go upstairs and sleep. 

We went to my room got into the bed and slowly drifted to sleep.
