CHAPTER 18 ELLA'S POV I woke with an irritating headache as I sat up on Mile's bed. I looked around and groaned as I put my hand over my head, though it didn't stop the pain. "You're awake." Miles said as he came towards me and put a cup of water to my lips. "Here, you should drink. You lost a lot of water." I obliged to what Miles ordered as I started to drink the cup he held for me in he's hands. I then pushed the cup away from me as I tried to get out of bed, though Miles didn't seem to like that idea. "You need to rest, Ella." I ignored him and then started to proceed to get up. "Where's Lola?" I asked as my head started to fill fuzzy. As I walked towards the door my legs started to wobble, I really wasn't feeling well. "Whoa." Miles said as he picked me up and sat me on the edge of bed. "Take it easy, Ella." Miles said as he put he's hand over my forehead to check my temperature. "Ella, you are burning up." Miles explained in a shocked tone as he started to look worried. I pushed he's hand away and rolled my eyes. "I'm fine, really." I then let out a deep breath as I stared Miles in the eye. "Can I go now? Lola is probably waiting for me, we always eat breakfast together." Miles face looked taken back at my words as he went into deep thought. I grew confused to what was happening. Why would Miles worry if I was just going to go see Lola? "Ella." Miles said as he put he's hands on my knees, while kneeling in front of where I sat on the edge of the bed. "I'm going to ask you something and you have to be completely honest, okay?" I was confused but nodded in agreement. "What is the last thing you remember before waking up?" I took he's words into deep thought as I tried to remember. What was the last thing I remember? I then smiled widely as I looked back at Miles. "I remember you took me to dinner last night, and telling me you would do anything to protect me." I started to blush as the memory crept in my mind. He really was sweet to me. MILE'S POV I couldn't help but look at her in disbelief. The night I took her out to dinner was 2 weeks ago, not last night. I fell back on my ass from kneeling as shock came to me. What else does Ella not know about? Does she really not remember Lola dying in front of her? "There's something you need to know." I said as I started to rub my temples in frustration. I then looked up and saw her beautiful hazel eyes, I couldn't bare the thought of seeing her in pain like yesterday. "Lola left early this morning, something about an adventure." Ella stood up straight away as she look betrayed. Oh no, does she know I'm lying? "Sounds like Lola." Ella chucked as she went and grabbed my hoodie and put it over her clothes for warmth. "Although it is strange she didn't invite me." "Yeah, really strange." I replied as I started to rub the back of my neck in anxiety. "Hmm, well when did she say she was coming back?" Ella asked as she gave me her hand so I could stand up, I took it gently and stood up. "I think she said it was probably a year, or maybe more.?" My lying skills were not skills at all. I just hoped Ella bought it. "A year?!" She then slumped back on the bed in a daze. "Did she say why?" She looked hurt, but not as hurt as she was when Lola died. Which is better. "Something about a personal big adventure, she wanted to go alone." I then sat next to her and put her hands into mine. I kissed her temple and started to pull the duvet over her. "You should really get some rest." Ella nodded and soon dozed off again. I then blew a breath. That's when I left our room and headed to the main area of the pack house. 'I want Noah, kitchen. Now.' I ordered over the pack mind-link. I needed to know what exactly was in that needle Noah gave me to calm Ella yesterday, I have a bad feeling the needle had more then just a drug to make Ella relax. ELLIOT'S POV I was distracting myself with paper work, trying to get my mind off of Lola. I couldn't bare the pain the memory had on me. Lola looking so weak and helpless as her life slipped away. I felt a tear strand escape my eyes, I soon put my pen down and started to rub my temples. I really do miss that Kako. I smiled weakly at the memories of her. From the first day I saw her chasing me, I knew she was going to make a big impact in my life. But I was stupid enough to think she would sit and wait for me while I was fighting. I was stupid to think Lola wouldn't participate in the danger. She was Lola for f**k sake! A knock on my door brought me out of my thoughts of her. "Alpha." I heard one of my warriors, Dane asked. I growled and told him to come in, I wasn't in the mood right now to be Alpha. I just wanted to mourn for the lost of Lola, that stupid lovable girl. Dane bowed he's head submissively as he approached any further in the office. "Alpha, there's been news about Lola's body." I snapped my head towards him with a deathly glare. "What is it!" I growled out. Still sensitive of how people refer to Lola. She's not some body, she's not some thing she's a person! "Uhh." Dane coughed he's stater away as he straighten he's shoulder. "Lola's body has been moved. There's not trace of her." I gripped my desk, as my knuckles turn white. "Found her! Now!" Dane bowed he's head and ran out of the office quickly. I slumped in my chair as I groaned. "Who the hell would take Lola?"
