CHAPTER 9 ELLA'S POV Ever since the attack at the pack house, Miles has been really over protective when it comes to me. The gesture is cute, but it's also way too suffocating. I hardly get to do things on my own without my hot new bodyguard following me like a shadow. Besides Miles being way to possessive, Lola has been ignoring me. I mean it wasn't my fault she got stuck in the closet, it was Miles who put her there. "Hey Lola." I greeted with a smile as I was standing near our lockers. She just looked at me and scoffed as she grabbed her books and walked off. "Wait, Lola." I said as I ran to catch up to her. "Lola, please." I continued to try and make her stop ignoring me. She then stopped and looked at me with the most terrifying death glare. "The whole weekend." She said as she came deathly close to me. "3 days, Ella." She continued as she held up the fingers in my face. "3 days I was in there." "I know, and I'm sorry." I explained as I put both my hands up in surrender. "Sorry doesn't stop the fact that I had to eat stale biscuits from someone's coat pocket." She huffed as she was ready to storm off. That's when I walked in the middle of the school hallway and yelled out, as she continued to walk away from me. "The most scariest, and amazing. Freedom feeling adventure!" She then stopped and pointed her eyebrow at me with the most satisfied smirk ever. I knew then I had my best-friend back, at least without the angry faces and the scoffs here and there. To be honest, it's been like this for 2 weeks. I s**t you not, my best-friend can hold the most grudges ever. When she was 7, her dad gave her a ken doll instead of a barbie one. She never talked to him for 4 months. The only way to stop Lola with her grudges is to make up for what you did. Even if it was Miles's fault. That's when Lola had the most mischievous look in her eye. She ran up to me and grabbed my arm as she ran us to the bathroom. Once we were alone she gave me the most serious look. "8pm tonight. My place, come alone." She explained as she was about to leave. Anyone would think she was selling me drugs by the way she was talking. Before she walked out she looked over at me with the most smug look. "Oh, and loose the guard dog. Tonight is just girls night." She said with excitement in her eyes as she walked out with he most wide smile I've ever seen. ********************************* "Hey." Miles greeted as he kissed my cheek and opened the passenger door for me to get in. Yeah, Miles has been picking me up and dropping me off from school. "Hi." I smiled back. When he got in the car, the car trip was quiet. I didn't want Miles knowing what I was doing tonight. I didn't want him to take my night away with Lola. I knew if I told him, he would say no. And me being...well me, I'm going to agree to those pearly white teeth and lovely hazel eyes. I'm whipped, I know that. "What's wrong?" Miles asked as he put he's hand on my cheek and started rubbing circles with he's thumb. I leaned into he's hand. "Nothing." I replied. But him, obviously being the wolf could tell I was lying. "Tell me what's bothering you?" He asked gently as he gave me he's full attention. "I'm fine, really." He just nodded, not wanting to push it any further. We were now at the front of my house, in the driveway to be exact. "I'll pick you up at 8 tonight." He said as he opened my door. The door wasn't the only thing to be open, so was my mouth as my jaw dropped. "Do you not want me to come?" He asked, a bit of disappointment detected in he's voice. "No!" I practically yelled back. Miles was perfect and amazing. I didn't want him to think for a second I didn't want him around, even if he's was suffocating at times. He then smiled widely at me, from my response no doubt. "But..." I started off. "But?" he asked with a pointed eyebrow, looking confused. "Myyyy..." I started off trying to make up a quick excuse. "Parents! Yeah, they want me to stay home tonight. Something about family fun night." I explained. I let out a sigh, content with my lying skills. Even if it was wrong, it was better then letting Lola down. I can't have her mad at me, and I can't have Miles knowing where I'm going. Even I don't know where I'm going. "Oh." Miles replied. "Well have fun." He said as he smiled and kissed my cheek. I was glad he bought it, but felt really guilty. That's when my parents opened the front door with their suitcases. f**k! totally forgot they were going away this weekend until next Friday! "Hi Mr and Mrs Jones." Miles greeted with a warm smile. I knew I was f****d now. "Are you 2 leaving somewhere?" He asked confused. "Oh, yes dear. We will be gone for a week. I do hope you make sure our little girl stays out of trouble." My mom said as she kissed he's cheek and walked over to the car where dad was loading the bags. "Family fun night?" He asked with a tone as he gave me questioned look. I sighed and waved my parents goodbye as I watched them leave. "Where are you really going?" He asked me more demanding. "No where...?" He didn't buy it for a second. "Just tell me where you are going. Why is it so hard?" He asked more annoyed this time. "I, I can't." This made him worried, but he soon covered it with a pissed off look. He pushed me to the wall and slammed both hands on the side of my face, blocking me in. Cliche? yes. But it was more scary then cliche. "Damn it, Ella. Just tell me!" He yelled at me, which made whimper with fear. That's when he put he's hands down and stepped back. He looked guilty and sorry. "Ella, I'm-" "Stay the f**k away from me." I said still shaking from he's outburst. He looked like he was going to kill me, he's eyes held some much anger. "Ella, please." He said while he's voice nearly broke. A few tears fell from my eyes as they rolled down my cheek. I ignored him and ran inside while slamming the door shut and locking it. "Please Ella, let me inside. I'm sorry." I haven't seen someone like that since Tyson did that to me. And when he did, he ended up hitting me afterwards. He soon stopped banging on the door, and yelling my name. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in, as I walked away from the door and up to my bedroom. That's when I texted Lola. Hey I sent her. I few minutes later she replied. Heyyy Do you wanna start the adventure earlier, my parents aren't home and I don't want to be alone right now. Sure, it'll give me more time to explain to you what we're doing tonight anyway ;P I then turned my phone off and grabbed the charger and earphones. I grabbed a bag and filled it with clothes, knowing I'll be staying with Lola for the weekend. I went down stairs and grabbed my car keys from the kitchen bench. By my surprise Miles was still sitting at the front door. "Ella." Miles said as he got up from he's sitting position and walk towards me. "Don't" I said as I walked towards my car and away from him. "Please, don't leave. Not when you're angry at me." He pleaded, with sadness in he's voice. I looked at him. This is exactly what Tyson did. He manipulated me, by pretending to be sad so I could forgive him, just so he could hurt me more. Before I opened my door I felt him grab my arm, not wanting me to leave. I looked at him with so much anger. "You're just like him." I said as I shook he's hand away from me. "Like who?" He asked confused. "You both pretend you're upset and sorry, just so I can forgive you." I said. "That, back there." I continued as I pointed to the front door, from where he slammed he's hands near me. "That's who you truly are, like Tyson." I was about to hop in the car until he slammed the door shut. The door nearly hit me, but I jumped back quickly away from it. I looked horrified and shocked at what he just did. "Don't you dare compare me to that piece of shit." He growled out. I just looked at him disgusted at the way he was acting. "I we even mates!?" I yelled in he's face. "Because by the way you talk about mates, I know for f*****g sure this ain't it!" I then shoved he's chest away from me as I hoped in the car and back out of the driveway. I rolled my window down as I looked at him. "I meant it when I said stay away from, Miles." I yelled out from my window, while saying 'Miles' as if it was poison on my tongue. I then made my way to Lola's house. Hopefully this adventure could make me forget about Miles and what happened today. Hopefully.
