Jenna's birthday

Vera POV

as quiet as I could possibly be I made my way down stairs and through the hall to the guest bedroom that Jenna sleeps in. today is her birthday, the big 18, and I wanted to surprise her with a special gift. these last few months have been exhausting for me and Brayden as we've continued our training to be the new alphas of the pack and Jenna has went above and beyond for me, even bringing me breakfast in bed on mornings I was to tired to even get up from long nights of studying. she was truly an amazing friend, so in return I went and had a special ring made, one with both our birth stones in it, signifying we would always be together and have each other.

as I lifted my hand to knock on the door it swung open before I even made contact with it.

"VERAAAA!"

her squealing voice echoed through the hallway.

"happy birthday darlin!"

I shared her excitement as we embraced each other in a big hug.

"this is it chick, your big day. are you excited?"

I watched as a nervous shiver seemed to go over her body.

"very excited, very nervous, and apparently very bloated."

she pouted her bottom lip and I laughed, she looked fine to me, but she is always on top of her image and if even the slightest thing is wrong she feels like its the end of the world. shes quite dramatic.

"dont worry, nothing a little ginger root tea can't handle." I reassured her and held out the nicely wrapped present box I got for her.

"oooh what is it!?"

she excitedly snatched the box and tore into it, revealing the ring. a gasp and look of awe swept over her face as she picked it up and slipped it on her finger.

"awe V, it's beautiful! and it's our birthstones!! I love it!"

she gave me another hug squeezing me tight and I squeezed her back.

"so what's the plan today birthday girl. dress shopping?"

"oh actually I already picked it out. and a hairstyle. oh and a appointment in town to get my nails done and hair re bleached. you know I got to look better than ever in case I find my mate tonight."

wow she really had it all planned out quick... without me.. I kinda thought she would want my help for all that today. I guess she was so excited she couldn't wait, especially with boys on her mind. *sigh* I really do hope she finds her mate soon, it might calm her down a bit.. probably not haha.

"well you sure have it all planned out don't you. welp I can't wait to see you in your final transformation tonight."

we both shared a laugh followed by her having a aha moment.

" oh yeah! but first I must fix you and Brayden breakfast."

I give her a gentle smile and shake my head.

"no Jenna it's your day off, you don't have to do that for us."

"please, your my best friends. I have no day off for you two. I strive to put a good meal on the table for you guys every day. well just breakfast today but still. it makes me happy to make you happy."

I knew there was no talking her out of it, she truly is an amazing friend.

we continued chatting about our plans for today as we made our way to the kitchen and she began cooking. we discussed all sorts of things about her party, what we would wear, food and wine choices, who might be there, what her wolf will look like, about anything and everything possible to think we discussed. by the time she finished our food it kinda hit me. Where was my handsome mate, I hadn't seen Bray all morning. he must have had an early meeting today with alpha Ryan. about an hour had passed, I was already done eating and he still wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"sorry Jen, I don't think he's coming."

she let out a disappointing sigh as she picked up his plate from the bar and wrapped it up for later.

"it's okay I know you two stay busy a lot with your alpha stuff, I'm just glad I got to spend the morning with you."

"awe Jen, I love ya.thank you for breakfast it was delicious as always"

"your welcome V. here at least take this protein shake to Brayden when you see him, it will give me peace of mind."

I took the shake and we said our good byes as she left to start her plans for the day. speaking of brayden, I think it's about time I investigated where my dear mate was at.

I checked his office and bedroom, but he wasn't there. I spotted alpha Ryan with my dad out front talking about something and Brayden wasn't with them either. there was one more place I knew to check, sure enough as I made my way to the training field I spotted my handsome mate with a few of his friends play fighting. I stood a distance from them watching as he out bested the others, a proud smile crossed my lips.

Brayden POV

"I gotcha! give up Chad! give in!"

a victorious grin spread across my lips as I held Chad down face first into the ground.

"alright! alright! I give!"

I got off of him and reached my hand out to help my friend up. Ray and hunter cheered me on as Chad patted me on the back.

"your a worthy opponent alpha, I hope you plan on making me your future beta."

Ray butted in at Chads comment,

"uh no he pinned you the fastest out of any of us dude, if anything me or Hunter should be beta."

I couldn't help but laugh at my friends bickering with each other over who would be my future beta, it was a decision to take in consideration indeed, but I still have plenty of time before I get to choose which means they each get more time to practice their strengths as well.

I was drawn out by that sweet smell I know of so well. I looked around the field and sure enough there was my beautiful mate staring back at me. I excitedly ran over to her and scooped her up in a big hug.

"there's my beautiful mate. "

I spun her around in my arms and smiled as she laughed.

"hey handsome, having some fun with the guys I see."

I put her down and planted a kiss to her forehead.

"yes, their trying to win a spot as my future beta."

"oooh a intriguing battle of strength and wits."

"yeah right. more like just strength with these goof balls."

she laughed at my comment and I took note of the drink in her hand.

"mmm is that for me?"

"yep, Jenna made it for you since you missed breakfast."

"oops."

I shrugged and grabbed the shake taking a few good drinks of it. it was good like REALLY good, usually she makes everybody vanilla or strawberry, but this shake is so tropical and fruity like mango, papaya, and pineapple. I nearly drank the whole thing in seconds.

"mm that's so good. kinda glad I missed breakfast now."

I chuckled as Vera tapped my arm and glared at me.

"thank you." i whisper as I plant another kiss against her soft lips.

"you should be thanking the birthday girl not me."

"oh eugh her 18th birthday. do I have to go."

I took a loud slurp of my drink as I gave her a goofy pout making her laugh.

"yeees alpha to be you have to go to our friends birthday party. it wouldn't be right for you not go."

"mm I got something better to do "

I sat my drink cup on the ground as a grin spread across my lips.

"like what." she scowled at me.

"you."

i picked her up bridal style and began carrying her to the pack house. her scent was becoming so strong i just couldn't help myself. a soft groan escaped my lips as I felt her arms tighten around my neck as she peppered my neck with soft kisses. God I loved this girl so much I was truly blessed to have her as my mate.

~~~hours later

I groaned as I felt Vera remove herself from my hold.

"cmon handsome we gotta get ready for the party."

I watched as she got up from the bed taking note of every curve and detail of her naked body as she walked to my bathroom to clean herself up.

"sure you don't wanna go round two."

I grinned and winked at her but she shot me down with a shake of her head and a long no.

I pulled myself from the bed dreadingly and walked up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist and planting a kiss on my mark that's etched into the skin of her neck. I chuckled as I heard her soft moan, it gets her every time.

"Bray you can have me as many times as you want once this party is over. you can wait a few more hours."

I looked in the mirror at her beautiful smile as our eyes met through the reflection. the thought of her withering underneath me all night was enough as I claim her over and over again was enough to make me excited to get through this party.

"fine. but it's going to be agony resisting you until then."

I placed another kiss on her cheek and smacked her ass I left the bathroom going to my closet to get dressed. I couldn't wait for this party to be over.

I slid on a dark grey button up shirt with a black pair of khaki pants.

"I'm going to my room to get ready Bray."

I turned and gave her a wink as she opened my door.

"I'll meet you down there in a second." I promised as she left. I fixed my dirty blond hair where it would spike in the front and slipped on a nice pair of shoes.

once I was finished getting ready I made my way down to the next level where her room was. I opened her door and my breath immediately caught in my throat and I couldnt help the groan that escaped my lips. I gazed at my beautiful mate, she was in a skin tight dark grey shimmery dress with her dark curls nicely done up in a messy bun except two strands that fell framing her face. she turned and looked at me with a grinning smile.

"Brayden does everything I do turn you on."

I chuckled darkly and walked up to her grabbing her by her ass and hoisting her up against the wall. my heart raced as I heard the soft moan escape her lips and I whispered huskily against her ear.

"absolutely."

I closed my eyes feeling her hand trace my jawline.

" just a few hours hun and I'm all yours."

her hot breath against me sent a chill up my spine but her words caused a reluctant groan to escape me as I sat her back down.

"fine baby, but I'm gonna destroy that pretty little dress when we get back. " my tone was dark as I grinned at her twirling one of her free locks of hair between my fingers. her own grin spread seductively across her face.

"promise?"

I pin her back against the wall with my arms trapping her as I whisper in a husky voice.

"don't or we're not making it to the party "

she chuckled and grabbed my hand in hers and lead us out her bedroom.

"come on before we miss her ceremony."
