Chapter 7When morning came, they were encouraged to see a few rays of dim sunshine filtering in the window. Throwing on some clothes, they rushed to the terrace to look out over the city. It was hard to tell if the waters had receded from their location, as this part of the city had not had much serious flooding. “Here,” said Sandro, grabbing two pairs of high boots, “put these on. Any resident of Venice has one or two pair of these. Let’s venture out and see how the city is doing. I don’t have much food in the house, so at the very least we’re going to have to find a place to get some breakfast or some groceries.
