THE FIRST call came just after six in the morning. Sophie had only been awake for a few minutes, still sitting at her kitchen island with a mug of untouched coffee beside her laptop. Sleep lingered in her eyes, but her mind had already wandered back to the encrypted files she had received the previous night.
