Today is the first day back to school. I was both excited and nervous. I get out of bed and head to the bathroom, to take a shower, trying to shake the dream I had had about Natalie. Just thinking her name causes the images to resurface behind my eyelids as I wash my face. MAY CONTAIN SOME MATURE CONTENTS! Natalie had said yes to going on a date with me and we were headed to the lake after having eaten at a nicer restaurant in town and watching a movie at the AMC movie theater in the mall where we normally hang out with our friends. She's wearing a dress that shows her cleavage and sits about mid thigh. A little out of character for her, other than the fact it's black. She looks beautiful. We got to the lake and I laid out a blanket from my trunk so we can look at the stars. Whenever she lay back, her dress rose and I could feel my jeans tighten around my groin. We started making out. Then, before anything else could happen, I woke up embarrassed and stiff. Now I'm in the shower willing the thoughts and my b***r to go away. I get out of the shower and throw on a gray and white tshirt and blue jeans. I grab my favorite hoodie to throw over it. It's the black grunt style hoodie I let Nat borrow during our sophomore year. It's been my favorite ever since. I take one last look in the mirror and comb through my dirty blond hair. I think to myself, today will be the day. I'm going to ask Nat out. I really hope she likes me the way I like her. Asher and Sage told me she likes me and Evie has even hinted at it. I'm not sure though. What if she only sees me as a friend? Or what if she thinks I like her sister? I mentally gag at the thought of Cassandra. I can't stand her. I know she has a thing for me. She is constantly trying to rub up on me and flirt. I also know that she bullies Natalie at home as well as at school. Her and her friends don't do it whenever I'm present. They must think I'm stupid or something. Like I wouldn't know it was them messing with Nat. Just thinking about the "pranks" they've pulled on her is enough to piss me off. I grab the book Nat suggested I read and head out to my car. The book was actually really good, not that I was entirely surprised. She has really good taste in just about everything. I head over to the twins' house to pick them up. Asher's car broke down last week and he hasn't got it fixed yet. Sage would normally ride with Evie, but she was picking up Nat today and asked Sage if he could just ride with us. Her and Nat had "girl" things to talk about. Sage is head over heels for Everleigh. Him and Everleigh started going out over the summer. So did Asher and Sadie. She was one of Cassandra's friends. At first I was skeptical, thinking she was only hanging around Asher to dig up dirt for Cassie. She turned out to be really cool and she makes Asher happy. I hope sometime soon I can do that for Natalie. Make her happy, be the one to pick her up, take her to school, and go to all our regular hang out spots with our friends. I want to take her on dates. I smile thinking about the possibility of her actually becoming my girlfriend. My passenger and back door opened, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Hey man, thanks for picking us up. The part for my car won't be in 'til next week," Asher says as he gets in shotgun. "Yeah, thanks for agreeing to let me come along. Evie said she wanted to talk to Nat about something so I would have had to ride the bus if it weren't for you." Sage chimes in. He tosses his backpack in and then catches Asher's as he goes to sit down. "It's no problem guys." I glance in my rearview and nervously ask, "Sage, do you know what it is Evie wants to talk to her about?" Sage looks at me knowingly, "No she just said it was girl talk and that I was excluded because I am in fact not a girl. Her words, not mine." He laughs quietly and shakes his head. After checking his phone, he looks out the window. Most likely thinking about Evie. "Eh, maybe she just wanted to talk about some new actor, or a video game. Honestly, there's no telling with Evie. She's pretty random," Asher responds, raking his fingers through his black hair. "Yea, she sure is, but that's what makes her a great friend. You never know what version of Evie you're gonna get." I tell Asher, shaking my head. We get to school about the same time as the girls. I feel my heart start racing as I see Natalie get out of Evie's car. We walk over to them. Before I can say anything to Natalie, Evie tries to throw her arms around all of us. "Welcome back to hell bitches!" As we walk into the school, Natalie and I start talking about the book she had recommended. In all honesty, I can barely focus on the book. I keep thinking about what she might say if I asked her out. Just then, Cassandra walks up with her annoying group of friends. I already know what's about to happen so I just tune her out and stand there until she decides to go away or one of my friends butts in. Asher can't stand her either, but I notice him and Natalie switch places. Nat glances back at me and mouths "sorry." She has no idea how badly I want to tell Cassandra to f**k off and leave me alone. How there's no other girl I'd rather spend my time with than Natalie. How I only have eyes for her sister and how the thought of her and me together repulses me. Sadie must have joined Asher and I sometime while I was busy ignoring Cassandra and thinking about Natalie. I tuned back in to unluckily hear Cassandra whisper in my ear. "I love how those jeans look on you Liam. But you know what I would love more? Seeing how you look with them off. Maybe we can get together later and you can show me?" She rubs her hand down my arm. I feel like I want to vomit and burn my jeans. Go ahead and sanitize my whole body while I'm at it. I don't know how or why she thinks that's attractive. I guess that kind of thing works on guys like Axel. Sadie, Asher, and I walk back over to Natalie and Evie. Speaking of Axel, he about knocked poor Sadie over. Asher, of course, called him out on it. I shake my head and look at Natalie. "Nat, I don't know how you live with her." I can tell she is uncomfortable because she just shrugs in response and grabs her schedule out of her bag. I grab out my schedule and hope that I have most if not all of my classes with Natalie. I sincerely hope I have none with Cassandra or her group of clones. That's one of the names Evie came up with. Luckily, I have first period with Nat, Everleigh, and Sage. They had already started walking off. I must've upset Natalie. s**t, that's not a good way to start the day. I really don't want her upset with me because of Cassandra. "Hey, wait for me guys!" I call after them, jogging to catch up. When I reach Natalie I'm slightly out of breath and feel really embarrassed. "I have Cliffe first period too." I notice she's smiling though. That alone makes me feel better. However, I notice her starting to blush. I find it adorable, but I can't tell her that yet. "You ok Nat?" She smiles at me and it almost takes my breath away. I want to make her smile like that all the time. "Yea, I'm ok. You know how Evie is." She tucks her hair behind her ear. Another one of her quirks that I find adorable. She does it sometimes without even noticing. "Yea, just up to her regular antics?" She looks up at me,smiling, "Always."
