Chapter twenty - Vacation plans

Nate's POV:

Mom has told me that she plans to talk with Olivia, but I didn't think that she will do it. I don't know exactly what they have been talking about, but I am sure that I was in the conversation. I asked mom if Olivia has told her who is the boy, but she didn't answer me. Well, if I wanted, I could've asked Olivia, but I don't think that she will tell me. When she feels ready, she will tell me. Moreover, we are just friends. Not even best friends. I am always on her side, but after all, it's her decision what she will share with me and what, not. I think that she has shared more than she wanted. I mean that I already know that there is a boy and how she feels about him. For a person who I know for a little bit more than two months, I have to say that I have shared things with Olivia like she is Henry or Tyler. I just feel comfortable and I know that she will understand me. Her boy is very lucky. Mom has told me that if I want to win her, I have to tell her the truth, but I don't know how this will help. I know that I am not her boy so I don't see how the truth will help me. Maybe my mom wanted me to be honest, and see what will happen. It's not a bad idea, but I would've done it if I knew that she doesn't like anyone. Now, everything is different. 

After three days, our winter vacation starts and I can't wait for it. I plan to spend my time with Henry and Tyler. Well, I can include Olivia, but I don't know what she will do. Maybe she will travel. I will ask her when she comes to school. I won't lie that I would love to spend some time with her during the vacation, but I don't know will she want to. I mean, I don't want to make it obvious. Maybe this vacation will change everything, who knows. Well, I would love it if everything goes in the right direction, but it's too good to be real. One day things will go in their places. 

In the morning, I woke up and started getting ready. I told the boys to come for breakfast. Lately, we haven't spent much time together and I won't lie that I have missed my friends. When I was done, I walked downstairs and saw that they were already there. How I see dad has taken the word. They looked at me with a pleasing smile and I quickly walked up to them. I love dad, but sometimes he doesn't know when to stop talking. 

- Hello, boys. How are you?

- We are good. How is your girl? - Henry asked chuckling

- You know that I am single, right?

- I will ask it politely. How is Olivia? Lately, you spend a lot of time with her. - Tyler said

- She is fine. Going to work when she is free. 

- And how do you feel about that?

- What do you mean? We are just friends. Get this in your head. 

- For sure you are. - Henry laughed

- I did a mistake inviting you this early. 

- You know that no matter what time is it, Henry will always be like that. 

- I know and that's for what I am sorry. 

- You know that I am here. 

- You know that I don't care. - I said chuckling

We finished with breakfast and walked to school. I saw Olivia standing by her locker. I was about to walk to her, but Mason was first. How I hate him or to say dislike him. I don't know what she told him, but he wasn't pleased. Then she saw me and I gave her a small smile. Mason gave me a dirty look. I wanted to be mean and give him a smirk, but I am not this type of person. I didn't say anything and walked to my locker. Soon Mason walked away and Olivia came to me. She smiled at me and I returned it. 

- You came exactly on time. 

- What do you mean?

- I mean that you can in the right moment. Otherwise, Mason was never going to leave me. 

- What does he want this time?

- He invited me to a party. Someone is celebrating the start of the winter vacation. 

- I guess that you denied it only because you don't want to go with him. 

- Yes and because I am not a big fan of parties. There are drunk people and weird ones. I prefer to chill by myself at home with junk food and a good movie. 

- Why do I think that there is a problem? You don't look in good mood. 

- Emma and James took two hundred dollars from my savings. 

- I thought that you have bought a save with a password. 

- Well, I wanted to, but for some time they have stopped and I decide to leave it like that. 

- I think that you should do it. 

- No need to. I have an idea.

- I wonder what is it. By the way, what are your plans for the winter vacation?

- Not very interesting. Why?

- I will spend my time with the boys and was wondering when you are free if you want to go out with us or only with me? Well, if your plans allow that. 

- Let me tell you what I will do. Since Emma and James keep stealing money from me, I will spend them all so they won't have from where to take them. 

- And how exactly you will spend them? I mean that I don't know how much you have. 

- I convinced Barry to close the shop during the holidays and give me the keys. 

- But the chances of more customers coming are higher. 

- No, they aren't. During the holidays, people are at home. I plan to use my saving to renovate the shop. All I will do is to repaint the walls with fresh paint, to change the menu. Basically, I will just print it again. This paper is from more than five years. Also, I was thinking to put in big letters the name of the shop in. Like a logo on top of the door. 

- Are you sure that your money will be enough?

- Well, I will go with the cheaper products. Well, not the cheapest ones. Most of them are trash. I was thinking of each wall to paint in a different color, representing the color of the milkshakes. What do you think?

- It's a great idea, but for one week I don't think that you can do it. All of this takes time. 

- I know, but I already have found someone who can make the big letters for the logo. Another idea, which I got, is to put a milkshake cup next to the logo. 

- You look very excited and full of ideas. - I said chuckling

- I know. I can't wait to start working. The fact that Barry doesn't know anything is amazing. Otherwise, I don't think that he was going to let me do it. 

- I hope that you know what you are doing.

- I do. Oh my god, I am so excited. - she said and gave me a hug

That was unexpected, but I liked it. Henry gave me a smirk, but I didn't say anything. All of us walked to our classes. Henry and Tyler are not with us, but in the next class, we are together. The sad part from all of this is that Olivia won't have any free time. Well, I can go to see her at work. It won't be the same, but it's better than nothing. I saw how excited she was and I couldn't tell her that I want to spend some time with her. 

On the lunch break, all of us went for food. Olivia was walking with one notebook. I guess that here she writes her ideas. Well, I saw the word milkshake in it. She left her things on our table and went for food. I took a sneak peek of her notebook. I have to say that she has many ideas, but I don't know will she be able to make all of them real for one week. I gladly would help her, but I don't think that she will let me. Personally, I think that she wants to prove that she can do everything alone. Not like it's bad, but sometimes even the greatest people need help. 

- You have a lot of ideas. 

- I know. I hope that I can make all of them real. 

- For what are you talking about? - Tyler asked

- Olivia will work during her winter vacation. 

- Yes, I want to renovate the milkshake shop and make it more modern. Well, not really, but at least it will be fresh. 

- Good luck then. The place is not small. 

- I know, but I think that I can do it. 

During the whole lunch break, Olivia was talking about her ideas. The boys were laughing at her enthusiasm and the fact that one person can't do all of this. I believe that she can do most of the things, but not everything. At least something makes her happy. 

We walked inside to get ready for the next class. Oliva took her things and came to me. I think that she wants something. Let's see what is it. 

- Nate?

- Yes. 

- I have to go to some places this afternoon so do you want to come with me? - she asked shyly

Sometimes, she is adorable. Moreover, who I am to deny an offer like this. I have no idea where she will go, but I would love to come with her. 

- I would love to. Where we'll go?

- I have to print the menu. It was hard to find a place where they print on bigger pieces of paper. Then I have to find a frame for this. It won't be easy. Otherwise, I can ask someone to make me one. Last, but not least, I will buy a whole new set of cups and straws. 

- Ok, no problem. I will come with you. 

- Thank you so much. You are the best. 

- For sure I am. - I said chuckling

After school, Olivia and I went to her house to leave our backpacks. She took some money and both of us walked out. The first place where we stopped was a copy center. They had this big printer. To be honest, I have never seen so big printer. Olivia gave the flash drive with the design and after five minutes the menu was done. The woman rolled it and secured it with a rubber band. Now, we have to go for a frame. 

- I have to say that you did a very pretty design. 

- Thanks. It took me two hours. I was very indecisive and wanted everything to be perfect. 

- You did a great job. 

Our next stop was in one photo shop. Olivia asked if they sell big frames and the man told her that she has to order one. Both of them took the size of the menu and ordered one. After three days, it has to be done. Last, but not least, we went to a shop for household goods. Olivia bought thirty milkshake cups and five-pack from one hundred straws in each. I see that she takes all of this very seriously. I like that she will use her money for something good. Otherwise, her brother and sister might steal them all. I think that Barry will like her idea. 

- Thank you for the help, Nate. I appreciate it. 

- It was a pleasure for me. If you want, I can help you with the shop, but I don't think that you will let me. - I said chuckling

- No, I will let you. Mostly, I want to do the work by myself, but I won't deny some help. Nothing personal, but I don't want to ruin your vacation. 

- You won't ruin it and I won't come every day. You can just call me when you need something. 

- Ok, no problem. Thank you. Again. 

- For you always. 

We walked to her house to leave the things, which we bought and me to take my backpack. I wanted to go home, but she pleased me to stay for dinner. Olivia said that she owns me for today. Luckily, her parents didn't mind and let me stay. They were very nice to me. My Milkshake girl told them about her ideas and what we bought today. I think that I should bring her nickname back. 

Around 10 pm, I walked home. I feel like Olivia wanted me to stay more, but it was late. I told her that I would see her tomorrow. She might not be free during the winter vacation, but I still will see her. To be honest, I don't care what we'll do. I just want to be with her. I feel like this vacation might change the things between us or say our friendship and I don't want this. Except, if it doesn't go in the right direction. I really like her and I hope that one day I will be able to tell her. There are so many things that I want to say, but I don't know how. Olivia made me tongue-tied and I'm not happy about this. She is the first girl who is doing this and I don't know what to do. We'll see what will happen.
