The sun was shining brightly and the breeze of air was cool and refreshing. The weather was good and peaceful, contrary to his messed-up and conflicted feelings.
"Hey bro! Wuzzup?!" his younger brother, Tristan, greeted him.
"What do you need this time?" Lexter said while massaging his temple.
He's currently in his office, working as usual. But he couldn't help but think of his wife. It had already been three days since that night, but he still couldn't get what she said out of his mind.
Heck! He didn't even sleep a wink that night!
'Can't believe that my wife was such a tease.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Are you blushing right now dude?!" Tristan exclaimed while laughing. Teasing him.
"Shut up," he said, pissed.
"Tsk. Seriously bro. What's up with you? You've been out of it for a few days already."
"It's nothing. What did you come here for, by the way?" Lexter asked, trying to change the topic.
"Oh right! One of our current projects encountered some minor problems, but don't worry, we can handle it." he said."And don't try to change the topic bro." Tristan added like he was a detective, interrogating a suspect.
Lexter signed and tsked while looking at him.
"Let me guess? It's about your wife, am I right?" he once again asked.
"Looks like you're too free, huh? Want me to give you more work to do?"
"Haha. I suddenly remembered that I had an appointment. Gotta go!" Tristan faked laughing and the next moment he was already gone.

Lexter looked outside the car and stared at the building in front of him.
"Fortalejo Corporation's," he mumbled to himself.
After a few minutes, he decided to park his car, then headed to the building's entrance. After entering, he headed to the information desk right away.
"Hi. Can I ask how I can get to Mrs. Zalvaro's office?" he asked.
The woman looked at him and smiled, "May I know what your name is sir? And do you have an appointment?" she asked, using a friendly and kind voice.
"I don't have one. But do I have to book an appointment?" he said.
"Pardon? Of course Sir. I'm sorry to tell you, but you cannot meet the CEO without an appointment." she once again responded with a smile.
'She's quite good at her job,' Lexter thought.
"Although I'm her husband?" he asked, which made the poor receptionist widen her eyes in shock.
After that, the woman employee apologized to him several times for not being able to recognize him at first. He said it was okay and even praised her for doing her job properly.
He also started heading to her office. His wife's office.
It took him some time in the elevator since his wife's office is on the 13th floor.
After a few minutes, he finally arrived in front of her office.
He knocked several times before a petite young woman opened the door for him.
It was Lina, his wife, Claire's secretary.
After seeing him, the shock was visible on her face. She probably recognized him since she was present at the couple's wedding.
"Mr. Zalvaro! G- Good afternoon Sir! Are you here for Ma'am Claire?" she asked, flustered.
"Uh yes. Is my wife here?" Lexter asked while smiling.
"Yes sir. Please come in," she answered.
He followed what she said and entered the room. It was a simple and vibrant room, and inside it was another door, probably heading to Claire's office.
Lina, who was with him, knocked at the door three times before opening it for him.
Then she looked at him and urged him to go inside the office.
After entering, Lexter's eyes landed on Claire. She was so busy with the files in front of her that she probably didn't even notice him.
Lexter stared at her for some time before faking a cough to get her attention.
"You're here," Claire uttered.
"Yes. I brought lunch, have you eaten?" he answered while taking a seat on a sofa in front of a small center table inside her office.
"Nah! What did you get for me?" she stood up from her seat, leaving her workload behind, and sat in front of him.
"Fried chicken, burger, some salad, drinks, and pasta." the letter answered while preparing the food.
After that, Claire didn't say anything and just started to eat, while Lexter, on the other hand, just stared at her.
The couple's relationship was not bad, but it was not good either. You can say that they treat each other casually. They can't be called friends either, since they weren't close.
Nonetheless, Lexter was still thankful that their relationship was not as bad as the other couple who arranged a marriage.
"What? You're just going to stare at me? Eat." she looked and said with a straight face.
'Is she concerned or not? She's really hard to read.', the latter thought, but did as she said right away.
