Chapter 3 : The Unknown Magician, Standard Elementals & Paraelementals Explained And The Truth About Masaru's Secret

"The kyouni magic academy semi-finals is about to start!"

Everyone was cheering and shouting with joy.

"Hey Kimoto, why's everyone hyped?"

"Well it's the semi-finals which means that the kyouni magic competition will soon end."

"So that's why."

"Yeah, and it means that kyouni knight and magic academies competition the one's who won their match will be competing against the sister academy."

"Sister academy?"

"Oh, uh it means like two academies related in the same country so yeah that's why their called as a sister academies."

"Thanks now I get it."

"Listen Tazawa, this is important the second years are the ones that we will be fighting."

"Esumi Masaru."

"He is a prince also known as the "The Greatest Magician". He's bad news for us."

"Esumi? Why though."

"Currently he is the top student amongst all of the royal family of Masaru not only talented but also intelligent."

"The most?"

"Yeah, he is currently the top of all of their families."

"We only have a slim chance to win against him."

Well if Kimoto feels uneasy about this maybe this is not a good idea.

"Hey Imai."

"Hm? What is it Tazawa?"

"Are you gonna be ok? We're fighting a royalty in our match. I'm saying that I'll need your strength so will you be alright?"

"Don't be silly!"

As she hugs me in my mind and said.

"I'll always be here with you. I'm also strong don't worry I trust you, I know you can do this!"

"This is gonna be an amazing match."

"For now Kimoto I need you to give me like a file of information about Esumi find something that might be a weakness."

He went ahead to find some information...

Now it's my turn.

"Hey, Tazawa."

I heard a familiar voice called my name.

"Oh, hello Esumi."

"It seems like your team and I will be matching."

"Yes, and I feel nervous."

"Come on! No need to be that nervous! We're all here to have fun!"

He said those words while patting me in the back.

"Hey Esumi."

"Yeah?"

"You look sad."

"Something bothering you?"

"You notice something's off? That's quite suprising."

"You can tell me anything Esumi we're friends that's what friends are for."

"Let's talk about this in the roof top."

"Sure thing."

We both went to the roof top it was windy but I'm still wondering why no one's there.

"If your wondering why no one's at this good place because this is actually off student limits."

"What!?"

"Don't worry I'm here so we're fine."

"Well if you say that then, sure I guess."

"Well I feel my father isn't noticing me anymore. I feel invisible to him. I feel that everything I did like every achievements he doesn't care about it."

"I think Masaru cares about you but he doesnt know how to express how far you've grown."

"Wait- Masaru? Did you just call my father Masaru?"

"Is it bad?"

"Not really. But my father is a king. Everyone respects him and calls him king Masaru. So why didn't you?"

"Well, let's just say your father and my father are great friends."

"Oh! Really!?"

"So what's your father's name?"

"I don't really know but Masaru knows something about it. Or I should probably call him Uncle Masaru."

He laughed.

"Well that's the first time ever that someone will call him Uncle."

"Well enough about me. Esumi are you ok now?"

"Yeah thanks for cheering me up I'm looking forward to our match for tomorrow."

"Same here Esumi."

Esumi waved and said goodbye but I heard a small sound of someone's voice.

"Tazawa..."

"Huh? Who said that?"

"It doesn't matter who am I."

"Listen Tazawa... The great Oyama royal family will be in a big threat."

I cleared my throat.

"Isn't the Oyama family the strongest swords and magicians of all time?"

The voice stayed silent for a straight minute...

"Let's assume it's true. Why tell me this?"

"Because... You're the chosen one."

"Your the one that'll save the Oyama family. If you don't save them those you held dear will die."

"Who the hell are you?"

Someone that oddly looked like me appeared before me.

"I'm from the future."

"What!?"

"Future!? How's that even possible so your saying in this so called "Future" Time travelling is possible? Don't be ridiculous."

The person that looked like me was just staying low and couldn't handle my questions that I was spitting at him.

"KYOKO, AYAME, KIMOTO AND IMAI WILL DIE AND AFTER THAT THE WHOLE WORLD!"

He looked like someone that loss everything he loved.

"Well what do I need to do to stop this from happening."

"You need to stop Esumi Masaru from winning the match."

"So your saying I loss to this match?"

"Yes you lost to this match."

"And If you lose the match. He'll be put in despair and his father Masaru Oyama will kill him."

"What!?"

"At your situation you'll lose and destroy the world."

"I'm here to train you."

"Train?"

"Magic won't work against Esumi so your chance is Imai and swordsman skill."

"I know you have alot of questions Tazawa but I'll explain everything once the time comes that your fighting against Esumi."

"Before we train I want atleast a short explanation."

He looked at me waiting for my question.

"What does happen in the future."

He sighed.

"Fine, let me give you a explanation."

"Sorry but can Imai not listen to this?"

"What!? Your a stranger! Your suspicious!You think would I leave you alone with Tazawa!?"

"Imai don't worry I'm gonna be fine. I need your magic for him for now rest your strength."

She gave me a pout and a few seconds a sigh.

"Fine, you better not die."

"I won't don't worry."

She disappeared and went back inside me and rest.

"Sorry Imai." He mumbles silently.

"Tazawa... You can't tell anyone about this conversation."

"It's a taboo to disrupt the past."

"Let me explain to make sure the taboo will not activate."

"Before I say anything. You'll face alot of problems in the future-"

He dropped down to the ground.

"Oi! What's wrong!?"

"Seems I don't have much time."

"Tazawa you need to stay strong whatever fate makes you face."

He touched my forehead and I felt a unusual energy inside me.

It sounded like the language that Uncle Masaru spoken before.

I'll ask him about this.

I feel like he is hiding something...

"Imai, it's alright now you can come out."

She appeared infront of me.

"Where's the guy you were talking to?"

"They passed away."

"We should go back to the place I need to think and come up with a strategy."

"Oh, alright."

A few minutes of walking.

"We're finally home."

Tazawa was having doubts, was that man's story all nonesense? Did he actually die? If he did travelled in time how? Alot of questions going on his mind.

He fell asleep and tried to forget everything and think about it tomorrow.

I should forget this for now and think about it.

Or so he thought...

"Tazawa."

A voice kept saying Tazawa's name.

"Tazawa."

"H-Huh? Who's there!?"

"Yoso Ken Geijutsu."

"What does it mean!?"

"Masaru Oyama, you need his help say those words to him and you'll get the explanation."

The voice went in silent and disappeardd out of nowhere.

The next day...

I woke up by my alarm.

"Huh? it's school already?"

I went for a quick bath, ate breakfast, wore my uniform and went to my class.

A few minutes later...

I finally arrived my assigned chair.

our teacher Kurowa Asai arrived.

"Oi Tazawa."

"Yes?"

"Good luck on the match you'll be facing another Oyama royalty you too Kyoko and Kimoto."

"Thank you mam we'll do our best."

"Ok good luck again."

"Thank you very much for the encouragement."

"Anyways today we'll be talking about the natural elemental types fotia (Fire), nero (Water), anemos (Wind) gi (Earth) The standard elements of magic. Not only that we are also going to be talking about what happens when two standard elemental magic that are called paraelementals."

"So first, Fotia (Fire), Nero (Water), Anemos (Wind) And Gi (Earth) are standard elements. I'll only talk about the important things that everyone should know."

"You'll be given a chance to upgrade your standard elements to paraelementals, energy elements, quasi-elements, light magic, dark magic, unique magic, and ancient magic. But for now we'll only be talking about standard and paraelementals."

"It's optional, although our king Masaru has a ancient magic that lets him defy the laws of magic."

"Anyways. If you upgrade to paraelementals your mastery that you mastered in standard will restart all over."

"So far the paraelementals is at the advantage right now you may think. But standard elements has it's advantages first and foremost it ignores the special defense mechanism Hogo. As we all know Hogo is a defense magic that is based on element. Unlike using standard magic though ignores hogo (protection) and directly damages the user it self any kind of standard magic. While if you use any other elements like paraelementals you can't ignore the hogo."

"The damage you do in spirits are the most effective. That is if you can break spirit protection. which is different with hogo."

"Now talking about magic armor. Standard elements focus more in speed your flight magic is faster than paraelementals your magic's speed is also faster and not only that you're immune to dark magic."

"If your facing someone with the same element everything will be equal. Though Nero is stronger than Fotia and Gi is stronger than Nero and Anemos is stronger than Gi and Fotia is stronger than Anemos."

"They have a element counter with one that has advantage, disadvantage and neutral power.

"Now it's time for paraelementals."

"Paraelementals are when two standard magic combined it's natural and pure standards are all gone now."

"There's multiple paraelements there's alot to count but we should start with fotia combinations."

"Fotia (Fire) + Anemos (Wind) = Lightning Magic,

Fotia + Gi (Earth) = Magma Magic,

Fotia + Nero (Water) = Steam, that's what happens when you combined Fotia with other natural elements."

"Nero (Water) + Anemos (Wind) = Ice, Unfortunately there's only one Nero paraelements but don't underestimate it.

"Anemos + Fotia = Smoke Magic, Anemos + Gi = Sand Magic, Anemos + Nero = Cloud Magic. Also cloud magic can make lighting so basically it can make fire too."

"Gi + Nero = Earth Magic+ this is the updated version of earth magic. The earth that you create is even tougher than a natural magic."

"Also, Fire magic has alot of magic spells most of the people claims it's the strongest magic but it actually depends on how you use it. To let you all know there's more but it's already time to dismiss."

"We'll be reviewing more and more. Again Tazawa good luck."

"Thank you mam."

Everyone left to go take a break.

"Hey Kimoto."

"Huh? Oh Tazawa, what's up?"

"I want to train something for our match."

"Are you staying as a standard or a paraelemental?"

"I'm probably going to be a paraelemental a fire one to be exact."

"Ok I wanna test something."

"Huh? And that is?"

"Let's meet up at the evening go to the training grounds it's about our competition."

"Just us two?"

"Yeah..."

"For now don't tell Ayame nor Kyoko."

"Alright."

School ended and everyone went back to their dorms.

"Tazawa?"

"Hm?"

"I heard you and Kimoto talking about something tonight are you gonna be doing something."

"Don't worry about it Imai we're just training."

"If you say so."

A few hours has passed and it's evening.

Tazawa went to the training grounds to meet up with Kimoto to train.

He arrived the training grounds. But wait. Who's that beside him.

I went closer and asked Kimoto.

"I'm here Kimoto, sorry I was runnig late."

"Oh, it's fine I was talking with him."

A mysterious student came by last night alone as well.

"Hi."

"Hello."

"What's your name?"

"Alice."

"Nice to meet you Alice."

That's a weird name for a boy but who am I to judge.

"What're you doing in the place at night? Perhaps are you training?"

"Y-Yeah."

"Well would you like to join our training?"

"Is it alright?"

"Yeah, it's alright."

He looked happy.

We all had a mock battle against each other and it was tiring.
