CHAPTER 7 _____________ALYSSA'S POV____________ Sophia! My f*****g competitor is Sophia molly. One of the meanest girls. actually, she is the meanest girl. And her attraction towards Marcus never goes unnoticed. She is the school's queen so no one dares messes with her or else you are in for a good old time scores settling. And here she is, my competition. As if my mood couldn't get any more worse. Slowly with my head down, I walked towards our table and I could already feel her graining at me. "Stand by your tables everyone!" Mr sky announced and she came by me. He gave the instructions and we all proceeded. I mixed both chemicals together and it formed a pinkish form as I stired in the heat. "You are really full of yourself, aren't you?" Came her voice from beside with a scoff. Just what I had expected. I decided to ignore and continue on my task which i could guess outraged her as she grabbed the bicker from my hands. I signed. Then turned to her. "What do you want Sophy?" "Don't call me that" she scroll. "We are not that close" Of course we aren't. And here she is, bugging me. She was folded her arms across her chest and I did the same. She scoffed and dropped her hands. "I really hate badass people like you." She grunts. "Marcus!" Mr sky called out. "Could you follow me to the principal's office? We've got some issues to sort out. And the rest of you, continue on your tasks. No noises okay!" Mr sky soon left with him. I took the initiative to mutter back to her. I can't keep on letting them walk all over me. "Don't you atimes think whether or not you are the the one instead. Am not the badass here. If you are so sure of yourself then please let me be and face your work. Am not in the mood for any tantrums." I turned back to my work but should have known better that people like this are spoilt as to getting pissed. Rich people and their nonsense. "Tantrums?" She coughed out. I hear her grit before angrily grabbing the back of my neck. "You little piece of s**t. How dare you talk to me like that. I will show you were you actually belong." She pulled my face closer to the steaming chemical as I held onto the desk for support to pull back. "Are you out of your senses? Let me go! There is acid in this." She didn't. Instead, worsened. She yank more harder as I tried using all my strength to pull back. but lately, it was obvious I had become weak by the passing day. "I will see how Marcus or any other guy would ever be able to look at your ugly stupid face!" She spat with laughter. By now, the whole class had gathered. One would think they should help but instead, they whispered amongst themselves and brought out their phones, enjoying the scene. I felt tiers whelmed up my eyes. My hands were now shaking. I was loosing my grip. Who am I kidding, am weak. That's just the actual fact and my personality. "No. Please let go!" I pleaded. Trying to pull her hands away but couldn't reach as I had to focus more on not getting my face burnt. "Oh so now you can beg. The princess in damsel or should we say the damsel in distress. Why don't you call your prince charming." She mimicked and they all laughed. She pushed my head this time with full force and unexpectedly. The steaming chemical hit my nostrils as I couldn't help but inhaled sharply. "What the hell are you doing?" It was Marcus' voice as he rushed in. She let go of me and I felt everything blank out just right after my hand hit the acid away. _______________________________________ I opened my eyes slowly and the first thing I came in contact with was a white sink. Slowly steady beeping echoed in my ears. I looked around careful just to see I was at the school clinic and beside the bed was my mom. Her eyes red and swollen. But she hadn't seem to notice that I was awake yet. Her eyes blank to space. I hate seeing her this way. "Mom!" I gathered my voice as I tried to reach to her. Her eyes snapped to mine and I could clearly see the tiers rolling down her cheek. I guess in that aspect, am just like my Mom. My Dad would never bug over matters like this. He wouldn't even bug over any matter. She cleaned her face and moved closer to me, patting my hair. "Thank goodness you are awake." She muttered. Then suddenly her face turned cold. Her eyes narrowed. "Why did you do it?" Her voice was fainted. I frowned. What was she talking about. Was it my fault for being bullied by a school mate? Before any words could be spoken, the door opened and the school nurse walked in. "You are awake I see. heaven help you children of these days." She shook her head and headed to a table before coming closer to me with an injection. I moved. "What is that for?" She paused and looked at me. "Of course I have to explain." She walked closer. "This is to stimulate your body internally from after what happened." "You mean the acid. Did it do to me any harm?" I asked. Scared for my own life. "The girl who did this to you and all other students who were present would be dealt with. But you aren't left off the hook either." She rolled up my sleeves then cleaned a part with a cotton wool. My Mom just sat and watch. "What did I do? I've done nothing wrong other than trying to stand up for myself. How is that against the school's code of conduct?" I felt to voice out. She paused on the injection and looked at me. "You are pregnant Alyssa, and yet, tried getting an abortion. You don't think that's against the school's code of conduct?" She sounded with dismay. I felt my jaw dropped. "What? I-"
