Giuliana POV
“Giuliana! Get up! It’s time to get ready for school!” I hear mom yell from down stairs.
I don’t mind getting up for school, so my mom doesn’t know that I’m already awake doing my makeup. Yes I’m only 17 years old but who cares? Every girl in my school does it, so do I. Not to be full of myself, but I’m a little better at it than they are. I took to the makeup tutorials quite seriously, so I became a makeup guru at just the age of 14. My birthday is in 4 months and I cannot wait because mom said she'd get me the new Jefree Star palette!
It’s currently 6:15am, just finishing up my makeup and onto hair. I’m going to go with two Dutch braids since that is the quickest hairstyle to do with my wavy long deep brown hair. It’s also a plus because my hair will be curly for tomorrow. Getting fancied up for school is not always a big deal for me but I woke up in a good mood today, so why not? I have time to eat too, before the bus arrives at 6:50am! Moms breakfast will always be ten times better than the jail food they serve at school. So thankful for open lunch.
“Giuliana! Castillo! are you ready yet? Your egg bake and pancakes are getting cold!” Mom yells
Castillo is my younger brother by two years. He’s usually NEVER up at this time. I emphasize never because he’s always gaming up until 3am. I swear, sometimes I rarely get good sleep because I can hear him screaming at his buddies during a game. Quite comical, which is why I rarely get to sleep.
I went to knock on his door, no answer. Welp, it looks like he’s getting his daily sister wake up call.
*starts to jump on his bed*
“SCHOOL, SCHOOL, ITS TIME FOR SCHOOL GET UP BEFORE I POUR COLD WATER ON YOUUU” I scream at the top of my lungs.
Castillo: “Urgghhhh LiLi, why are you so annoying? It’s literally 7am. People need sleep.” He muffles through his pillow.
“It’s 6:40am and you need to get dressed for school. I’m going to take this luscious 10 minutes to eat so I don’t have to grab jail food before classes. Better hurry before mom comes in with the chancla!” I giggle out.
School never really was his thing. As for me, I love school. It gives me something to do rather than be bored all day. Math is by far my favorite subject. Say what you will, but it has always clicked in my brain. You know how in some movies where equations pop out of people’s imagination? Well that happens for me. I wonder if this year I’ll get to represent our school in the algebraic math contest.
“Your bus is here guys! You better not make Al wait or I’ll get your papa up!” Mom says interrupting my thoughts.
My papa and mom are so cute together. They have the funniest relationship. Both act as if they’re still teenagers but still hold that parent authority. I hope my relationship graduates to theirs.
Jackson is my, I guess you could say “long-term” boyfriend. We have been together on and off since we were 11. He’s only a month older than me. Mom calls it puppy love, but I truly think he’s my soulmate, despite our ups and downs. He’s cheated on me, yes but we’re still young. People need to grow, right?
Speaking of the devil, he's walking up to our bus now.
Me: “Jacksonnn!” I squeal
Jackson: “O my gosh babe do you have to be so loud it’s too early” he groans
Castillo: “Ha! As if my sister cares how early it is, she’s a literal psycho path.” Castillo yawns out, getting onto the bus
Me: “Well if you guys didn’t spend your night video gaming and screaming at your friends you wouldn't be so tired in the morning, now would you?” I question, sliding into my bus seat.
Castillo: “How else will I have time to game when my life is literally sucked into a hell hole?” Castillo fires back
“Second that brother” Jackson says
My brother glares at him and leans his head on the window putting in his AirPods.
Castillo doesn’t like Jackson because of the nights I had cried in my room when he cheated on me. I lost my virginity to him the beginning of freshman year as he lost his to me. After that he’s kind of been going on a rampage screwing the most easy girls at our school. When he breaks up with me I get him back tenfold. Then he comes crawling back and that’s just how our relationship goes. Hence why my brother doesn’t like him.
“I can’t wait to go home” my brother exclaims, as we pull up to the school.
“You say that everyday” I laugh
