Alexis and I spent a few hours at the beauty salon. She wanted me to have an entire makeover. She assured me that I would feel better after changing my hair and getting my nails done.
And it wasn’t a lie. I felt better.
I let out a deep breath as we made our way out of the salon. “How do you feel?” Alexis smiled at me as we approached the car.
“Even if I still feel miserable inside of me, I feel great because I look great,” I admitted, the excitement palpable in my voice.
Alexis chuckled. “I’m so happy you agreed to do this.” She said as we stepped into the car. “If I had known that all it would take was marching down to your house, I would have done it a long time ago.”
