The Adventures of Morfix

CHAPTER TWO: METAL

Morfix father being a blacksmith has afforded him the ability to be able to understand the different properties of metal and he has developed likeness for it. Morfix would often be practicing on the field with his favorite sword. He is a such a fantastic craftsman. He is talented and thus, at a very early age, he is able to handle the sword he had forged for himself.  Morfix had the “Excalibur” of King Arthur in mind when he was forging his sword. Excalibur was forged in Avalon and presented to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake, after his original sword was broken in combat. There is no record of the swordsmith. Morfix had made research of the Excalibur and had put everything in place to recreate something similar.

A competion is about to go down in Laos and every young and able Man is put in for the swordsmanship competition where the winner is to be crowned leader of the Laos army. william had won the previous 10, but he will not competing this time. old age is begining to catch and he can no longer lead the army of laos to yet another defeat against the warriors of mobgad. he has had lots of injuries to treat. he is gradually becoming baggage of war. william has been teaching his son, morfix to use the sword and fight like a warrior. he had registered his son for the competition and morfix was the youngest to enter into the competion.

"you do not fear nobody. you are morfix, the son of william"

"you will win this competion and lead the people of laos to victory"

these were william constant words to morfix as they were training.

As the competiton drew closer, morfix grew into his training. day and night he trained.

during one of his training, morfix had fixed his gaze on his sword while thinking of the tree opposite him. suddenly, the sword, left his hand, and striked the tree into two part and it returned to his hand

in a jiffy, he was scared and he ran home as fast as he could.

"was that magic or mere imaginations" he thought to himself

Magic is a taboo in Laos and anyone caught with magic will be executed. Dark Magic is a form of magic used to murder, torment, or control other people. It is commonly used by sorcerers with evil or sinister intentions.

Magic itself is basically neutral; its morality is determined by how it is used and the motives of the person using it. However, there are some magical practices that can only be used for evil or to inflict harm upon other people. It is these spells and rituals that are known as dark magic.

Morfix had narrated what happened to his father and it didnt take long for him to know that morfix had generated super powers from thw clan of the mobgads.

"you have to keep this hidden for as long as you can. it is dangerous out here and we can all be killed"

"you need to learn to control it, you have to harness yourself in it and it will be your companion"
