Beside Misery was the little boy she’d tried to help. He was laying on the ground seemingly entranced by a medallion in front of him that had a huge spider on it. ‘Good god,’ Tabatha’s mind screamed. He had called Misery his mommy. She said a quick prayer hoping it was a lie. The last thing she needed evidence of, was that demons could have wicked little children. An inhuman scream rose up from the fire and Tabatha felt frightened tears fall from her eyes when a black shadow flew up out of it and circled the area before plunging into the ground. Five more appeared immediately after, also diving into the earth. One of the vampires reached out to touch her and she jerked on her bindings trying to get out of its reach. Tabatha blinked when her vision swam for fear of not seeing death comin
