Chapter 7 SHOPPING

　　Sure enough, the party was the next day.

　　It started in the afternoon with a barbecue party. The official announcement would be at the ball in the evening. That morning I went with all my five sisters-in-law to a mall near the Gradient Moon pack. They reasoned that everyone was shopping at the nearby mall and that if we went to another pack to buy our outfits I could avoid accidentally showing up in the same dress as one of the pack sluts. Really?? I just hoped they didn't refer to one of my sisters.

　　Gradient Moon is about two hours away.

　　But thank goodness we had a driver to take us there so we had time to talk and deepen our relationship. During this trip I found out that Janet was the oldest, who was more caring and honest, Janice loved to make fun of her siblings, Joy was sarcastic but straight forward, Janic was introvert and quieter while Jovan was spoiled and mean.

　　I think I should keep Janet close to me, I like honest people. In the Gradient Moon shopping center we went to an exclusive but expensive boutique. I almost passed out from the price tags. Janet took out a credit card and handed it to me. "This is yours. Since you are the future luna, your card contains two million dollars with a maximum of 10,000 a day," she told me. My eyes widen surprised. Never in my life have I spent two million, let alone 10,000 "Are you sure it's mine?" I asked Janet incredibly. "Of course. The code is your birthday. Just make sure you don't lose it," she assured me.

　　“Watt!!!”, I hear two sisters screaming. "TWO MILLION!! Why is our card only 50,000? We are Nelis' sisters!!", I heard Jovan complain, her voice dripped from jealousy. "Yeah!!", Joy supported her sister in dismay. "She just came in yesterday and has already two million to spend". “Find yourself a rich husband and you'll be able to spend more", Janet chided them. I felt very uneasy after their outburst.

　　“Uhmmm, Janet, you know I have my own card. My father put enough money in a trust for me to live comfortably for the rest of my life," I told her, just to ease the matter. “I don't think I'll need this money. Please take it back." "No, Evelyn. This is rightfully yours. You are the alpha male's mate, it is his money on this card. You are not harming anyone, believe me," she assured me. "It is the responsibility of a mate to take care of your outfit and Marcus does it wholeheartedly. He had that card ready for you since last year.” When I heard that, I half-heartedly accepted the card and ignored the dagger look of the sisters.

　　The high spirit in the car was completely gone with this card incident. I sigh sadly and decide to talk to Marcus about it later.

　　Finally, the mood improved when the girls started trying on many dresses, from sexy to elegant. I just couldn't decide how to show up in front of the pack. "Just be you," Janic encouraged me, feeling my indecisiveness.

　　Elegant. So I decided to go that way. I just wanted the pack to see me as a confident and mature person, an exemplary figure to promote high moral standards in the pack. Not that the pack has low morale in general, no, it's only meant for some hot, oversexed unmated wolves. It's just that I feel sorry for the guy who ends up being the mate of one of these sluts.

　　A slight uneasiness overcame me when I noticed that nobody helped me with my dress, gave me no advice or anything. I thought it was my party, I'm the main character because it's me who is introduced. ‘Hmmmmm, not that bad’, I brushed off the uneasy feeling, it could be a coincidence because they obviously love to party and are super excited. I ended up leaving with three dresses, two sets of sexy lingerie and a present for Luna Philida.
