As they drove back to the ranch, Barry’s mind teemed with recipe ideas. He’d forgotten how much he enjoyed cooking for an appreciative audience. And the cowboys at breakfast had been very appreciative. Glancing out of the rear window, he was glad they had the use of a pickup because Barry had bought big. “And here’s our sign,” Jake said, breaking the comfortable silence that had fallen between them. Barry looked out through the windscreen and laughed. In the center of the archway that stretched over the main entrance to the ranch were two capital J’s loosely wound together. One J had been painted bright red, the other pale blue. “What is it with the whole blue and red thing with you two?” Barry asked, thinking complexions or eye colors or… “We both hate doing laundry,” Jake admitted.
