The Loaded Question

1086 Words
Sincere's POV: The atmosphere during the car ride to the airport so far had been light. We were getting to know each other better. I asked her about her wolf, and I can tell that she was honest with me. It was Soli's turn to ask me a question. Back at the auction, we only had limited time to speak privately without being noticed. I was trying to comfort her in a rush and accidentally let "we" slip instead of "I". I have to answer her honestly, but I worry that she will reject us. We had known early on that we were missing a piece of us. Soli is the missing piece of our hearts and souls. "I'm waiting, Sincere," she said bringing me out of my thoughts. "I will explain to you what I meant, but will you please promise me that you will listen with an open mind?" I pleaded with her. "I promise," she stated. "Ok, I'm just going to cut to the chase. We have two other mates," I blurted out. There was no denying the shock on her face, but she didn't say a word, so I continued "when I turned 18, I got my wolf. His name is Silas. After introducing ourselves to each other, Silas told me that we have a very different destiny than most wolves. He told me not to overthink things and just accept what the Moon Goddess chose for us. As you know, wolves have to wait for their first shift until there's a full moon. Just so happens that there was a full moon the night of my birthday. When I shifted, Silas ran with my friends and we came up to one of the ponds on my pack's territory. We looked at ourselves, and I was shocked at how big my wolf was. Alphas are usually large, but we are bigger than normal alpha wolves, however, our size wasn't the only surprising feature we have. Our fur is pearl white. In different lighting we look different colors just as a pearl does. And our eyes are silver in our wolf form. The exact same shade as yours. When we ran back towards the packhouse, Silas caught two distinct scents. I went behind a tree and shifted back and put on a pair of shorts kept in the trunk of the tree, and when I came out, there they were. One smelt like daffodils and the other smelt like maple syrup. They were my mates, Salem and Sevyn. I introduced them to my parents who immediately accepted them; any apprehension they had diminished after I told them what Silas had revealed to me earlier that morning. Salem is a witch, and Sevyn is a vampire," I paused after seeing Soli's expression. "Are you ok, sweetheart?" I inquired. She just looked at me for a few minutes and then she started rambling saying "this is all so much. My father was killed by a vampire. How can the Moon Goddess be so cruel and mate me to one of them? Have you not seen what the vampires are capable of?" She was visibly upset. At about that time, I received a mind link from the driver "Alpha, we have arrived at the airport." I didn't even realize the car had stopped. "Thank you, Franklin. Can you help grab the bags ?" I linked him. "Yes, alpha," he responded. "Soli, sweetheart, we're at the airport. Let's board and take off, then I can explain further," I explained. She gave me a quick nod still lost in her own thoughts. Moon Goddess, Selene, if you're listening to me, I'm afraid things are about to go sideways down here. If you can please let Soli have an open mind, I prayed in silence. After the plane took off and reached the proper altitude, we were free to move. I grabbed Soli's hand and pulled her beside me to my private quarters in the rear of the plane. "To answer your question, yes I know the destruction that vampires can cause. I've seen destruction that different species of supernatural beings can cause. You have to understand that just as there are rogue wolves, there are also rogue witches, lycans, and vampires. People who are either banished from their packs or covens. And more often than not, all the different rogue species congregate and work together. I am truly sorry that your father was killed; I cannot imagine what that must have been like. And I understand that it was a vampire that killed him, but most likely there were more than just vampires at your pack that night. Our mates are no where near rogues," I explained to her. I could tell that she's really thinking this over. "I never really thought about it like that to be honest. Even though I still feel a little apprehensive, I will not reject any of you. My father drilled into our heads from a young age how important the mate bond is, and how very important it is to not question Selene's plan for us. I just can't imagine feeling this pull we share with anyone else," Soli expressed. "Ok, it's my turn again. What do you think about having 3 sets of hands on you at the same time?" I smirked. Soli's POV: Sincere just blew my mind with the whole two other mate thing. There would be 4 of us. F-O-U-R... And now he wants to know what I think about three sets of hands on me; Moon Goddess kill me now because I know my face is all sorts of shades of red. "I think it will be amazing," Safira purred in my mind. "Well, I can tell you that my wolf thinks it will be amazing. She just told me so... I have to say, I never really thought about being with more than one person at a time. The idea doesn't repulse me," and I let it go at that. "Sweetheart, considering your scent of Gardenia just got quite a bit stronger, and Silas is purring in my mind from being enclosed with your delicious scent, I'd say that the idea actually turns you on," Sincere whispered in my ear. His breath fanned over my ear creating all sorts of sensations, and his heavy scent of cocoa beans had Safira projecting all sorts of naughty images in my mind. This would be the death of me, but what a way to go. Am I right?
