The Auction

Soli's POV: Brandon was not kidding. This team of his are miracle workers. I've dressed up plenty of times, but I felt like a million bucks which is ironic since later today I will be auctioned off. My hair was beautiful in an up do with curls falling around. My gown was beautiful. I would have never picked sunset orange for myself, but it looks perfect with my complexion and midnight blue hair. My makeup was stunning with my skin looking flawless, dramatic turquoise eyeshadow, natural eyeliner, and false lashes. Sasha, the makeup artist, decided to give me a nude lip to not draw the attention away from my eyes. I walked back into the sitting area of our suite where my mother and Brandon was waiting. When they saw me, the atmosphere in the room changed. "So, boss, how'd we do?" Sasha questioned. "You look amazing Soli. I don't know what I was expecting, you are a beautiful young woman," Brandon stuttered. My mother was staring at me. After a few minutes, I was starting to worry, do I began rambling "well what do you think? Is it to much? I will never be bid on by one of the kind pack leaders..." "Soli, stop," my mother insisted, "I was just thinking how much I messed up with this. You are beautiful and kind and careless; you don't deserve me as your mother." She has tears in her eyes, and I see the true regret that she feels. My mother is human, and most humans think they are experts at hiding their emotions, but I assure you they are not. "Thank you. This is where we're at right now, and I truly need to focus on appealing to the right type of people. When and if y'all find me, let's revisit this then and work on things," I suggested. My mother gave me a hopeful nod. Brandon interrupted us after ending his phone call. "Ok everyone, please be vigilant. All the wolves up for auction are expected in the main ballroom in 10 minutes. All bidders will have the opportunity to view and even speak with you for one hour before the auction begins. This is the small window of time you have to impress everyone. Soli, I'm not going to lie and give you false hope. The less desirable bidders also have deep pockets. Your mother and I will get to spend 15 minutes with you after the auction before you have to leave," Brandon informed me. My heart rate was quickly increasing, but what was odd was that Safira wasn't the least bit nervous anymore. "Thanks Brandon, I'm going to step out on the balcony and calm myself for a moment before we head out," I announced. After manoeuvring my way out the sliding door, I just had to speak with Safira. "Ok, Safira, what's going on with you? You were a nervous wreck and now I almost feel calmness from you." I stated. "I am calm. My anxiety was from not knowing Brandon and the fact that our mother put us here. I can't read mother like you can, but Brandon's wolf is a pure soul. I believe he will do what he says even though that's no guarantee," my wolf responded, "I will be speaking to you throughout the night. I will steer you the best I can." I gave her a nod as Brandon came to tell me it was time. As the three of us descended the stairs, I began feeling nervous. I felt a wave of calmness wash over me, Safira. She was helping us the best she can at the moment. I did feel calmer. We were directed to an area behind a curtain to wait and be introduced. Brandon had to wait for me in the ballroom, my mother on the other hand, got to stay with me to keep me under control. "Ok, ma'am, I need you to fill out this registration form really quickly before the opening ceremony begins," a tall lanky man told my mother. She took his clipboard and filled in all the spaces. The man picked up all the paperwork from everyone. He announced, "five minutes, everyone. All chaperones need to wait in the ballroom close to the right hand side of the stage." Ok, let's get this over with. "Soli, you did great. I'm so sorry for all of this, but I have a good feeling everything will be fine," Brandon praised. I felt like so many people were staring at me. Well, actually, they were. I believe there's more people here than the population of the town in Montana we lived in. "Now, we will begin to mingle. Meet some of the representatives from the different packs. You should be able to feel who you should steer away from," Brandon said interrupting me from my thoughts. I felt someone's eyes on me like they were going to burn a hole into the back of my head. I turned to look and even I had to admit, he was one of the most beautiful people I had ever seen. "Soli, that man is our mate. Something feels odd about him. You need to talk to him," Safira spoke suddenly. This man was huge; he had chocolate brown hair slicked back, his eyes were the most beautiful shade of green I had ever seen, he was very tall, taller than my brother, and he appeared to be very muscular the way his suit fit him tight. I didn't realize while looking him over that he had started to approach me. He was literally looking me up and down. I cleared my throat to capture his attention. "Hi, I'm Soli Reign," I introduced myself even though I had already been introduced at the opening ceremony. He was still checking me out, and I honestly thought I'd melt under his gaze. I cleared my throat once again and stated "my eyes are up here, fella." If we weren't in the middle of this damned ballroom, I would have chuckled out loud. Knowing that he had been caught, his cheeks were steadily turning brighter shades of pink. It was the cutest thing I had seen. "I'm sorry. I'm Sincere Ransom. I'm from the Midnight Waters Pack. We're located in a small town in Alabama called Somerville," he began, "I think we need to talk privately." I nodded to him and followed him. Brandon and my mother were mingling, so I should be good for a few minutes. Alabama, huh. That's not to far from my original pack in Tennessee. I was in the middle of thinking about how great it would be to be closer to Solimon when I suddenly felt myself slam into a wall. A pair of strong hands caught me before I landed on the floor. "I'm so sorry, I was just thinking about my brother," I apologized. He tucked a piece of my fallen hair behind my ear; his thumb touching my face ever so lightly. It didn't matter how slight it was because I could still feel electricity bursting from his touch. "Hi," I mumbled. "I don't know how this is possible, but we can work that out later. We don't have much time; I know you have your wolf. My wolf has imprinted on her already. There's definitely some things we need to talk about, but first, we have to focus on me winning you in this auction," Sincere whispered. "I do have her, and yes there's much to discuss, but you're right we have to get through this debacle first," I replied. "Are you covering your scent?" he whisper asked. "My wolf has suppressed our scent since she came to me," I explained. "I saw a few of the other Alphas looking at you, I will not be the only one bidding on you. I am prepared to spend whatever is necessary to bring you home with me. If in The Moon Goddess's name, someone is able to out bid me, I swear to you, we will find you. We won't rest until we get you back," he announced. We? "Ok, we don't have time for this. I really am curious why you said we, but that's another conversation for another time. My mother and the man with us will know where I've been taken if you don't win. Find them and help them find me," I instructed him as we slipped back into the ballroom. I looked around, and as far as I can tell, we weren't noticed.
