Jim smiled up at her saying thank you but you can keep it if you want to, he hesitated slightly, as a sort of memento, he blushed. She had never seen him blush so completely, her own cheeks flushed slightly.
“I wanted to apologise for what I did to you, I should not have invaded your privacy like I did!”
“Invade away, if you find the door unlocked.” He looked down at his treasure.
“I hope I did not hurt you too much with Mum’s cane. To her ears the conversation sounded stilted.
“The cane is supposed to hurt, if it does not what is the point of using it?”
