“Thank you so much for lunch Rachel, it was lovely,” John says as he pulls me into a hug in the doorway.
I return the hug with a smile, “It was my pleasure. Thank you so much for dropping by.” As I let him go Alec comes up behind me resting one hand on my hip as he extends the other to John.
“Was nice meeting you, John,” he says warmly.
“You too, Alec,” he says returning the handshake. “Take good care of her,” John warns.
Alec smiles, “I’ll try, but she wears the pants around here,” he jokes.
John throws his head back and laughs. He’ll break his neck one day if he keeps doing that. “You kids take care,” he says as he heads back to his apartment.
