By the time we pulled into the shopping centre car park, I was already exhausted.
Not physically.
Emotionally.
So much had happened in less than twenty-four hours that my brain still hadn’t caught up. Finding my mate. Learning about the Moon Goddess. Growing overnight. Preparing for my first shift.
And somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, Josh was still acting like this was the greatest day of his life.
“I called ahead and told them to clear the entire morning on Alpha orders,” Josh announced proudly as he climbed out of the car.
Mum sighed. “You absolutely did not.”
Josh grinned. “Okay, fine. I exaggerated slightly.”
“You threatened them with your presence, didn’t you?” Sarah asked.
“They were honoured.”
We all laughed as we made our way through the centre.
