After Work

When eleven pm came around all the customers had left the café, which I was glad for cause I was ready for some sleep. "Lets get this place closed up" Max said and I nodded to me and I just nodded my head as I let out a yawn. Even on the run mom and I would have found a place to hide in before now, but that is because she had been running all day and carrying me so she was tired. Right now I was in my own world and I wanted to cry so bad, I had watched happy families come and go all day, even Max had a happy family that she was trying to make like one of, but I knew that I was not.

When I got to the back I took a seat at the table and took the napkin out of my pocket and read over it. I shook my head as I read it ‘Dear Jaz, you are sweet and kind, thanks for taking care of us, we hope you find a great mate one day that will treat you like an princess. Thanks again. Your customers from the wolf council.’ I read over it more as I thought about ‘Who is the wolf council?’ I let out a sigh as I put it back in my pocket, I’ll just ask Tyler tomorrow at school I guess.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and I look up and see Max “Is everything alright?” I smile and nod my head “Yea it is, just got an odd letter from an older couple today, but noting Tyler can’t help me with tomorrow are school.” I said to her and she just looked at me with an eye brow raised “The guy that yelled at me today.” I said she just gave me the ‘oh ok’ look “Well lets get out of here and get home.” She said and I just nodded my head.

We locked the back door, then walked and walked out it then Max locked the door. We walked to her car and got in. I let out a sigh as I buckled up and looked out the window ‘How do they know me? Why didn’t they help mom and me?’ I thought as I looked out the window and I had so many other questions in my mind ‘Tyler had a friend he called ‘Alpha’ but I don’t think that was true name, but I know how packs works.’ I thought as I let out a sigh again and rubbed my forehead, I took out my phone and looked at the messages I had on it. There was some from Tyler, Angel, and Ann and four numbers I didn’t know. I’ll open them after I have dinner with Max and Lance tonight.

Once we get to Max’s house we get out of the car and walk into the house, the only thing that is head is the TV going “Lance put the kids to bed already” She said and I just smiled. Just then Lance walked into the hallway where we was at “Dinner is being warmed up right now, and the kids are in bed.” He said and She smiled as she gave him a kiss “Your the best.” She said to him and I rolled my eyes at her as I walked around her. Before I could get into the kitchen my phone began to ring “I’ll be in my room, if you don’t mind to bring me some” I said to them “Who is it?” Lance ask “It’s a friend from school” I said to him and he nodded his head at me and I walked up to my room, when I got into my room I picked up my phone. “Hello” I said as I took a seat on my bed “Who is this?” I ask not being very help that someone called me before I had dinner “Hello Jasmine” Came a voice that I had hear today “Who are you and how did you get my number?” I ask again “My name is Josh and I was with Tyler today” He said and I thought of all the faces I had seen today “Are you the guy he called Alpha?” I asked “That I would be” He said to me “So what do you want with me?” I ask again “Tyler told me your that you don’t have a pack and you will be getting your wolf soon?” He said more of a question “That is right, I’ll work on it when the time comes” I said to him “Just hold onto my number.” He added “I will, now if you excuse me I have to go eat dinner” I said to him as I hung up the phone. ‘I do need to join a pack but I don’t want to leave Max and her family they are fun to be with and I like my job at the cafe.’ I thought to myself as I walked to the door and Max was at the door with food “Thanks Max for the food.” I said smiling “You will tell me if something is wrong right?” She ask “Yea I will Max.” I said to her and she smiled at me as she walked off.

I watched her walk away ‘I’m sorry Max, there is some things I can’t tell you and your family’ I thought to myself as I took the food back into my room and sat at my small table with my food and started to eat it. Once I was done I took the dished down stairs to the kitchen and got them ready to go in the dish washer, then I went back to my room so I could take a look at the messes on my phone that I didn’t know who they was and then go to sleep.
