Chapter 13: Hara Passed The Exam

Keul faced the audience. "We will do it by batch. I will call ten participants per batch." He took the masterlist and called ten participants all together. All of them stood on the stage. "Can you see those round clear crystal plates around the stage? Stand on each one of them and release your energy. The quarts will react to your power based on how much you can release."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Each examinees stood on each crystal plate.

"Are you all ready? Start!" Keul shouted, giving the signal to start the exam.

Hara waited patiently at the side of the arena, watching the examinees intently. Eight round crystals among ten mages on the stage shone weak, white energy, almost not visible to ordinary on-lookers. The other two were shining light yellow energy.

"What? They are so weak!" Some of the audience shouted.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"Please, step down from the stage. We will call the next batch," Keul said to the examinees. The poor mages just scratched their heads and shrugged their shoulders.

Hara, Si Mon and the others went to the stage and stood on each stystal plate.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"Are you ready?" Keul asked.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"Yes," some replied, including Si Mon. Hara just nodded.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"Release your energy and make it flow down to the crystal plate," he instructed.

The examinees followed his instructions. Five crystals released bright yellow and three released pale blue energies. Si Mon's plate released olive green and Hara released deep blue energy.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Everyone was in awe upon seeing two powerful mages in front of them.

The king smiled. "Very well. We found two powerful mages, and several useful ones. No need to test them further. I want these ten mages to enter the palace. Continue testing the rest, try to train them as well. We might be able to find more promising mages."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"That powerful lady is rare," the queen said. "She is a powerful water mage, according to her registration form." She glanced back to the paper she was holding. It was a copy of Hara's registration form.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"We are lucky we found her. That Earth element controller is useful, too. We can ask him to plant the trees on the south mountain to regain its former beauty. We can also ask him to provide seeds to the farmers at the bottom of the mountain." He scratched his beards. "It's our lucky day, indeed."

Aina was just watching the examination. She was in awe of how it was done. She practiced magic and knew some tricks, but she does not hold any elemental magic, at least not yet. The Royal Mages were still training her to discover her full potential as a mage and as the crown princess of Maho Kingdom. She sighed.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

She remembered when Royal Mage Flenger asked her to turn the water in the glass into ice, she exploded the glass insead. One time, Royal Mage Dwight asked her to make the paper plane fly, she turned it into a killer plane with sharp edges and it cut down everything it passed through.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"I'm not powerful enough. Do I deserve to be the crown princess and the future of the people of Maho Kingdom?" she asked herself. Everyone in the palace calls her pretty, gorgeous, stunning, cute, and all other adjectives they could think of to praise her physical beauty, but she always sucks in using magic.

"Why are you so quiet?" Queen Ezra asked. "Are you not feeling well?"

"I'm just tired, Queen Mother. I finished practicing with Royal Mage Fenger and Dwight. I need to rest after this." She suddenly became excited after glancing at Hara who was standing at the side of the stage. "Queen Mother, can she be my master? I want her to train me."

"Of course, anything you want, my darling princess," the queen replied.

The king, who was sitting between them nodded. "She will be your master, Princess Aina. Don't worry about it."

Aina gave a wide smile to her parents. "Thank you, Mother, Father!"

"You should continue the examination, Keul. We have to go early. Aina will rest and I will have a meeting with the Royal Mages." He glanced at Hara and Si Mon. "Come with us, the two of you," he instructed the two mages.

Hara's lips twitched. "I'm in, my brother. I will start finding you tonight."
