Chapter 7 Princess Hara

"Excuse me," the lady in her black cloak asked the female vendor in her thirties. She was standing in front of her stall placed at the sidewalk of the wide street of the capital's market. "What time does the Royal Mages' examination start?"

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"It will start in an hour. It will be held at the palace's army's training ground, just beside it." She pointed at the end of the street. "I think you should go there now if you are planning to watch. A lot of bystanders will watch today."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"I'm not watching, I am participating." She bowed a bit to show gratitude. "Thank you."

She walked towards the palace. A lot of people were also heading towards there. Some were practicing their magic while the others were just whispering with their companion, most likely were just going there to watch.

Hara, the youngest sister of King Harold, arrived from the kingdom of Sueno. It was difficult for her to enter the kingdom because of strict implementation of the kingdom. It was closed down after the change of the kingdom's ruler, and just now opened to welcome mages from different lands and islands.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"I will find you, my brother. I will also look for the prince and your queen." She and Harold have the same appearance, the only difference was their hair colors and their gender. The king has brown hair while she has orange. The previous Queen, her mother sent her to the mountainous region while she was still a kid to help her suppress and control her untamed internal power. She only found out about the coup d'etat in Maho Kingdom after her king brother went missing. "No one probably remembered me and my face."

Now she was back to find her older brother and his family, and to take the kingdom back to the true royal family.

She arrived in front of the training ground for the Royal Mages examination.

The kingdom is lacking elemental mages because elemental powers can only earn in three ways: one is through bloodlines; two, through the blessings of the royal family, because only the true blood royals can bless anyone with such powers; and three, the forbidden one—stealing from other mages using dark magic.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

She proceeded to the training ground's entrance and stopped at the end of the queue for registration. She waited for her turn.

"Next," the man in Royal Mages white-gold cloak and satin clothing said. The symbol of lion and crown on top of it were embroidered on the left chest of his top cloth. His position was Sub Royal Mage.

"I would like to take the exam for the Royal Mage position," she said.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"We have one requirement upon registration. Show your magic. We will determine on what level you are and if you are qualified to take the exam."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

She opened her palm and showed the power of the water element.

"Whoa! She has a water element!" one of the examinees said.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"She will definitely pass the exam," the other one commented.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"The king will definitely choose her. We need a water mage." The man rubbed his cheek. "She looks familiar though, I just can't remember where I see her."

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

"You are in. Write down your name and your home town, then you may proceed to the testing area." He handed her a gold round token. "This is your token to take the examination. Showed it at the entrance."

"Thank you." She took the token and left the registration booth.

The other examinees were still whispering about her. She ignored them and proceeded to the testing area. "I need to get into the Royal Mages so I will be free to roam around the palace and find my brother."
