"I'm scared, Mom." She wrapped her arms around her mother's neck. "Can you sleep in my room? Or just stay until I fall asleep."
"I will sleep in your room. I'll tell you a story." She smiled at her daughter while fixing her hair.
"You both should go to sleep. I still have things to work for the kingdom." The king walked closely to his wife and daughter, and gave them both a warm hug.
"You should also sleep, Dad. It's late." The innocent girl looks up to her father like a hero. "Follow us quickly."
"I will, Aina." The king turned around and went back to his chair, started focusing on the parchment documents laying on his desk.
The little princess became sad. In her innocent mind, the king works hard for the entire kingdom but has less time for her, but she understood his father's role as the king. She is young but she knows the kingdom needs her father.
"Let's go, Aina." The queen turned around and went out of the king's room. "I will tell you a lot of stories about the princess who found her prince and lived happily ever after."
"Was the prince kind and brave?" she asked.
"Yes, my daughter." The queen opened the door of the princess' room. She walked slowly towards the bed and put her daughter there. She fixed her blanket and her pillows. "The prince was handsome, kind and gentle. He also fought dragons and beasts to save his beloved princess."
"I want to meet a prince like him, Mom."
"Someday, you will." She kissed her on her forehead. "Go to sleep, sweetie. I will just be right here beside you." She hummed a lullaby to send her to sleep. Her power can doze off even the strongest beast in the forest, or the strongest mage in the entire kingdom. Aina is everything to her. She did everything that she has done for her daughter. She wants to give her the best life she could ever have. She can be fearless and dangerous to others, but she is soft and weak in front of her daughter.
