Chapter 5: different perspective

Alpha Damien’s POV

It’s been 3 days since I lost my daughter. I’ve been on the road since this tracking her. The other night I was awoken from my slumber by my mates screams in the middle of the night, panicked I ran to her side ready to kill what ever was distressing my beautiful mate. When I found her she was in sitting on the floor with her head between her knees sobbing. I moved to her side and put my arm around her trying to comfort her. Even after all these years together my touch still has the power to calm her. She relaxes into my hold.

“My love, what is going on”  Ask her while using my free  arm to lift her chin up.

She looks down again and starts to cry louder, shaking her head as if she is trying to wrap her mind around what is going on. “its Amira, she took off” She practically wails when finishing the last word.

“Maybe she is just out with friends, and decided to skip curfew?” I say with hope in my voice.

She shakes her head again and pulls out a piece of paper that was half wedged under her butt. “I found this on her pillow”.

Taking the paper from her I unfold it to read “I’m off on an adventure, I am sorry but I cannot live the life you have planned- Love always Amira”

I looked up Sienna sadness swirled in her eyes as she began to move her lips but words weren’t able to escape them.

“I’ll find her my love, please don’t worry”  

“This is your fault for trying to force her into that marriage” placing her arms on my chest to push me away from her.

“This marriage needs to happen for the safety of our pack and the security of knowing my daughter will always be with us. Not only that but you know as well as me about the agreement we made with Stefan” I reply through my gritted teeth “ Do you expect me to go back on a contract we both signed?”  She looks at me with red rimmed eyes and just shakes her head.

I know Sienna never really wanted to uphold the contract that we made when Amira was born. I wasn’t always Alpha. It was before Amira was born the Crimson pack was ran by Alfred. Alfred was a cruel hearted man that would inflict the worst kinds of punishments for whatever he deemed crimes. The breaking point is when Sienna had become pregnant because we did not ask his permission to mark 8and mate each other, he claimed it to be treason. Thanks to his beta over hearing his plans to have me and my mate publicly beaten he had given us a heads up, so we ran. The neighboring pack Midnight Sun had allowed us a meeting with their Alpha Asher. After we explained our situation Asher had agreed to help us and allow me to become the new alpha of  Crimson pack so long as I promised our daughter would mate with his son Dalton upon her 18th birthday and the two of them would rule over both packs. The only other choice we had was to accept our family and friends would be killed in cold blood and us turn to the rouge life. After some consideration we took the most sensible way out. We only prayed that Amira would not hate us or that she would never cross paths with her true mate. We had try to get Alfred to allow the two to form a bond but he only allowed it up until Dalton was around 5 and Amira was only 2 so its very doubtful that she would even remember him. Alfred had always claimed that Dalton had to be present at all alpha meetings and attend his training so that he could learn how to be a good, strong, and fierce leader.

Now here I stand along with my gamma Devin, Dalton and his betta Zac, we have been searching for Amira and Devin’s children Tinsley and Nathan. So far we tracked them to a magic shop where we encountered a fairy that claims she had not seen them. I knew she was lying, fairies are not known for their honesty. The issue was Dalton also knew she was lying it took all of us to hold him back from ending the fairy. In the end she decided to tell us my daughter and her little posse were heading to the enchanted forest. This did however give me an insight to what my only child would have to live with, I can tell he is strong but he seems violent. I would like to believe this is just his way of showing me he will protect her and cares for her.

We’ve followed a distance behind them and found them at the hotel. Daltons beta decided to spook them and they took off we were right on their tail until they disappeared. I wasn’t worried we knew where they were going and would make our way there.  Once we made our way to the pier I could smell them at the last dock but there was no boat. We could only assume that we would have to wait on the boats return to question its occupants’.

The day after the boat returned it looked like a real beater. I was dumbfounded my daughter had trusted it enough to even get on it. I called out to the captain but before I could get a response Dalton was already climbing up the side of the ship to get to some one I guess her scent was sending him in a frenzy. Once he reached the top not even a second later  the gang plank is forced down by the hands of Dalton as he storms toward the captains quarters. His claws already elongating and body shaking violently.

“Dalton!” I call out but he doesn’t even acknowledge me. I sprint to come to his side and when we are walking side by side I can feel the anger rolling off of him and effecting me. “Dalton if we go in there like this the captain will not be of any help, " you need to remain calm”.

He glares at me in response “If you had kept a better eye on her than we could have already moved her to my pack and started the process, you gave her too much freedom, when you knew she was promised.”

“How could I expect her to run away, she seemed so calm when we had given her news of being mated to you?”  I question him.

“Yeah, so you’ve said.” He says with jaw clenched.

“Can I help you gentleman?”  A faceless voice calls out. I turn to see what appears to be the captain with his arms across his chest.

Before I can speak Dalton shouts “We are looking for my mate and her scent was tracked to your ship. Where is she”?

“your mate?” he says questioningly. “and what does your mate look like?”

 Dalton closed the distance between them with his hands clenched ready to strike the man. His speed was unnatural even for us. He shoves the man “ Where is my mate? She was here I can smell her.”

“She is no longer here, we tried to cross over to the Enchanted forest and was attacked by the sirens that control those waters.”

“So she is dead?” Dalton narrows  his eyes and bares his fangs

I could see the mixture of emotions on the captains face as if he were deciding to lie or not. I decided to step forward. “ Captain, my name is Damian, the she-wolf and her friends that boarded your ship belong to my pack I am Amira’s father and my friend Gavin is the father of the other two. We just want our children back home with her and safe.” I pleaded with the saddest eyes I could manage to give.

He nodded his head towards me “They saved my whole ship, with the way this man is acting I am not sure I would be returning the favor to her if I told the rest of the story.” He narrowed his eyes at Dalton. “However, know how it feels to loose a child, and although you have the ability to see yours again I can sympathize with that. If I were to take you half way can you guarantee that she will be safe and you will not force her against her will”

“Half way?” Dalton shouted “ Why can you not just take us to her.”

“No human can come within those shores.” The captain spat back.

“But you’re not human are you” Dalton sneered.

The captain looked taken aback by Daltons comment it was true that he did not smell human but I could not place what species he could be.

“Dismiss your crew and take us we will help  you guide the boat there and back” I say while taking the opportunity to de-escalate the situation.

“And if I refuse”  The captain shot back at me.

“Then you die” Dalton said coldly.

The captain looked at me as I nodded in agreement with Dalton. This was not the way I planned to come to an agreement, but if I did not side with him then there would be consequences to face and I would rather nothing be taken out on my daughter. I am starting to regret making that deal all those years ago.

Amira’s POV:

Excitement fills me as we approached the shore of the forest it looked like it could have been connected at one point to the mainland but here it is all of its glory hidden away from the rest of the world.  We reached the shore I could no longer contain my excitement as I dove into the water and swam the rest of the way. There I stood on the shore of this island jumping up and down like an i***t waving to my friends who were still seated atop the whale. They were close enough that I could see their wide grins and the excitement they too contained. The Whale stopped short of where the water turned shallow allowing my friends to jump down and only get partially wet.

“Yall!! We are here!” I yelled in excitement “The f*****g enchanted forest! I can’t believe it”

“Mira, We did it!” Tin squeals.

“I'm so excited and scared I am not sure how to handle it” I say “ Do you have any weird feelings?”

“None. Just the aura around this area is so tranquil, I am at peace with being here. Even my wolf is begging to be let out”

“Not yet” Nathan chimes in “ Lets find a place to camp and then we can let our wolves play”

“Yes! Lets go in and do it” I say with determination and excitement.
