Seeking Life

Chapter 6

We are here where all of our kind originated from, the place from the bed time stories that was meant to be a fantasy, the place I’ve always dreamed about being. As we entered the forest it felt like we entered a completely different realm. A warm feeling overcame me as we stepped between the trees, I felt connected to the forest like this is where I was supposed to be forever. I looked around in awe, the trees were so tall it looked like they touched the heavens the trucks looked like it would take at least 20 people circling around them to measure the circumference, As tall and lush as the trees were there was no lack of sunlight beaming down to  the floor of the forest which was coved in think brightly colored moss. The scents of the forest is not similar to other forests like, mud and grass, no it smelled more floral and alluring. I hadn’t even realized how far  I had walked until Nathan was at my side and grabbed my arm spinning me around to him. “ Where are you going” He smiled. I shrugged “ I didn’t even realize I was walking”.  We walked around for a while until coming to a clearing by this time the sun was setting and we had enough time to make a temporary shelter  for the night. There were a few snacks that we had picked up before loading on the boat so we had plenty to eat we made a small fire just to sit around and  while we ate. Once the darkness over took the forest we laid under the little shelter made of branches and a small tarp. Tinsley and Nate were snoring, loudly might I add, however I could not fall asleep maybe it was excitement or this pull I had to go somewhere. Nora was scratching at my brain to let her free, I wanted to but I didn’t want to worry my friends I knew they would become upset if I just wandered off on my own but I also did not want to wake them. I mulled over possible outcomes in my head on what could happen. After the argument between me and Nora she no longer waited for my approval she just took what she wanted. I was tossed to the back of my mind while Nora took over my body she had not yet shifted but she was in control she just simply walked out of camp. She was looking around I could feel the happiness that Nora felt and I felt like a b***h for not letting her enjoy this sooner. I decided to let her completely have me and allow me to watch through her eyes.

Nora’s POV

My human takes forever to make a decision. I love the girl but she acts like she has to have her friends for everything, I just want to run and be free with out being tied to them. Not that I don’t like them but I needed space. I can feel a pull in this place like there is somewhere that I need to be. I run in the direction that feels right leaping over the tall roots of the trees. I can smell water and something else. I am not sure what the something else is but the closer I get the more intoxicating the smell gets. I increase my speed until I reach a waterfall. Its not like the one in that small town. No this is breathtaking, it stands almost as tall as the trees, the water looks turquoise and the flowers surrounding look like nothing I have ever seen before there is a glow to them and they smell like lilies, the beautiful moon hangs full and brighter than ever over this beautiful garden. I can feel my human’s amazement at the scenery. I close my eyes inhaling all the scents surround me, only to have them pop open at the amazing intoxicating scent I smelled earlier. The smell cashmere and sugar, I snap my head around looking for the source, knowing that the only thing that could ever smell that lovely would be my mate. I can’t see anyone around and the smell surrounds me its impossible to pin it to one location. My human begs to allow the shift, but I was scared she would run and ruin our chance at being with our true mate, due to her feelings for Nate. I know she cared for him, but I want my true mate. As I shake my head trying to silence Amira my head snaps to the waterfall I can see a shadow behind it.  I can not look away my gaze cemented to that location.

“Shift!”  a Mans voice commands.

The order felt so strong I could not disobey. He feels stronger than any Alpha I had ever encountered. I hear a growl, I could only assume that he was growing impatient. I  whimpered and allowed Amira to come back. I would remain partially in control, I still do not trust her. “Do not run Amira! I will not forgive you if you do” I linked to her

Amira’s POV:

As my body reverted to my human form I felt a sense of dread over come me. I kept my gaze pinned to the ground. The air around me felt thick, I could feel the man getting closer until his bare feet were under in my sight.

“Look up” He commanded

I shook my head too scared to meet his gaze. I felt arms on my shoulders pulling me up to my feet and sending the most amazing tingles course through my entire body. I felt myself relaxing a little and slightly letting my guard down. Looking down at my body I realized that I was naked. Oh My Goddess! I thought to myself. Nora smirked in my mind. I felt tingles along my jaw and a few fingers tilted my chin up to look at who stood before me. I moved my arms down to cover my body in embarrassment. My eyes met the stranger’s eyes, he was everything I could ask for in a man. His skin  was tanned, with brown black hair, and the most alluring yellow eyes. My eyes trailed down to examine the rest of him. Apparently, I was not the only one naked, lucky for me. His body was broad and muscular, all of his are chiseled to perfection he looked the part of an Alpha for sure. I felt the heat of blush over come my cheeks as I realized I was pretty much eye f*****g this man. I brought my eyes back to meet his, He knew what I was doing it was evident by the smirk on his face. Before I could defend my actions his lips collided with mine at first I tried to push him away but I eventually gave up and surrendered to him just having his lips on mine sent sparks all through out me. I began to kiss him back as he walked me backwards placing my back against the rocks surrounding the falling water. He bit down on my lip placing kisses around my jaw making his way down to my sweet spot. He growled “Mate”  as I felt his canines extend scaping the surface. I let out a shriek “No please don’t!” while trying to squirm out of his grip. He lets out a loud growl in response.

“Why not you’re my mate!”.

“ I know but I am not ready” I reply shakily. He takes  

He begins to sniff around me, his eyes begin to glow with anger making them a much brighter yellow. “There is someone else? And do not lie I can smell him all over you”

“No, its not that. I just laid eyes on you for the very first time. I don’t even know your name” I say while not trying to sound scared.

“Meeka” He responds. “I can still smell another man on you, where is he”

“he is my friend! I came to explore this forest with him and my other friend.” I say confidently praying to the goddess he will let them be.

“Then why are they not with you now?” He asks c*****g his eyebrow at me.

“My wolf led me here, I didn’t really have much say in the matter.”  I force my self to stare into his eyes. He seems to relax placing his arms at sides of my head successfully trapping me. He takes one of his hands down to stroke the side of my face. I feel myself relax into his touch. A beautiful smile

“What is your name”  He asks still stroking the side of my face.

“Amira, I’m sometimes called Mira”

“Come with me”  He says as he grabs my hand dragging me in his direction.

“Uh what about my friends”  I ask.

He just keeps pulling me, I don’t really put up much of a fight as I don’t see much use. “ Where are we going?”  He turns his head back and grins.

“You said you wanted to explore” c*****g his head to the side “ Let me show you my world”

“Slight problem I am naked and so are you“  I point out.

“Yes and I love the view” He chuckled while turning his head back to watch where he was going.

I blushed and looked down. It felt good to know my mate enjoys the view of my body. Meeka pulled me closer to him interlacing our fingers while walking side by side. We didn’t walk far until a view of a castle appeared. I looked at Meeka to see a huge confident grin splayed across his face.

“Who are you”  I question him hoping that he was just showing me one of the wonders of the forest.

His grin grew even bigger as he said “Meeka”

               I sighed as I realized we were even closer to the castle. The closer we got the heavier my feet got. The castle looked like the one my mom had told me about large and white with golden roofs and the large concrete fence going around it covered in vines and the same glowing white flowers that surrounded the waterfall. Meeka led me to a bridge that laid over a large lake, at least 2 miles wide, that seemed to flow through the rest of the forest. There were guards walking around the premises of the lake and as we began to cross the guards halted their movements and stood perfectly still, this was my second indication that Meeka was some one of great importance. The closer we got to the actual castle the larger it looked, I felt so small in comparison. I felt a tinge of anxiety overcome me as we crossed under the entry way through a tunnel. I turned to look up at Meeka who seemed completely calm I however was completely mortified at the fact I am at the castle in my birthday suit walking with my mate in front of all the guards and who knows else that could be watching. I seen light at the end of the tunnel and there seemed to be two figures standing there waiting for us. I smelled the air and I could tell that one is a she-wolf, very strong and the other smelled like Mistress Evelynn so I assume she was also a fairy.

“MEEKA!!” One of the figures screeched excitedly, loud enough to hurt my ears a little, as she sprinted up to us, the other following behind at a slower pace.

“Renae!” Meeka responded happily. Pulling me closer to him as she neared us.

The she-wolf was beautiful, she had thick & long curly blonde hair that hung to her butt, her skin was not as dark as Meeka’s but still had a beautiful golden glow to it, she also shared the same bright yellow eyes. She closed the distance between us jumping onto Meeka, I would never admit it, but I felt jealous. I quickly tried to alter the expression on my face to prevent the exposure of the green-eyed monster. Renae glanced down to me a small smile gracing her lips.

“Who is this Meeka”  She said while looking me up and down.

“My mate” He said proudly.

Hearing him say it aloud and without hesitation made my heart skip a beat. I looked up at him to see him smiling down at me and it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

“Does mate have a name” She asked with a giggle.

“It’s Amira’’ I said quickly extending my hand to her.

She looked down at my hand like I was crazy and the slapped it away and quickly embracing me in a hug.

“Do not be so formal we are practically family” She happily exclaimed “ I have been waiting for Meeka to bring me a sister for so long, My name is Renae but you can call me Rae. Lucy please get Amira a dress from my room.”

With out a response Lucy turned quickly disappeared into thin air, as suddenly as she had disappeared she reappeared with a beautiful blue satin dress, and some clothes for Meeka that were a lot more casual a pair of stone washed jeans and a black shirt. Meeka reached for the dress before I could, he quickly slipped the dress over my head, ”Lift your arms” He commanded. I obeyed his order and the dress fell to my mid-thigh.  He then slipped effortlessly into his attire.

“It looks great on you” Rae said while clapping her hands together quickly. She grabbed my free hand and tried to lead me away from Meeka, I felt him tug me back to him.

“Rae, I just found her I would like to at least get to know her more before you steal her from me” He said stern yet jokingly.

Rae let out a sigh before agreeing to leave us be but not before telling Meeka that after tonight she would be taking me. I decided it was best not to object to them, however I planned on telling Meeka I wanted to return to my friends at least bring them here. I know when they wake up they were going to be freak out about my absence.

“Ill send some more clothes to your room then Meeka can’t just let here roam the castle with one outfit.” She called out as she turned to walk away, Lucy keeping pace with her.

“ Sorry about that, my sister really  has been bugging me about finding a mate that she could claim as her sister.”  Meeka smiled while shaking his head.

“It’s okay I always wanted siblings” I smiled “Sadly I was a one hit wonder for my parents.”

“Where are your parents” He asked.

I froze not ready to answer this question. I know I should tell him, for all I know my dad found a way to track me and drag me back. But would he, I thought, if he knew I found my mate.

“hello” Meeka brought me out thoughts. I decided to go with at least some of the truth he would be able to tell if I lied to him.

“I am not sure about my mom, but my dad is probably hot on my heels to get me” I said.

“I refuse to allow him to take you from me” He growled and started walking to the end of the tunnel that opened into a gorgeous garden area with a huge golden water fountain in the center, all colors of flowers surrounding the area. Some one here definitely has a passion for gardening I thought to myself. We walked towards the fountain to a bench that sat against one of the bushes around the fountain.

“So mate, tell me about you” I said with a small smile, hoping he was a talker and would lead the conversation far away from my life.

"I would much rather talk about you, I am a bit dull” He shrugged “but just so you feel more at ease my beauty, I am Meeka; King Meeka.”  He grinned at the last part.

I can literally feel my jaw on the ground. “K-k-king” I managed to stutter out.

“Yes King Meeka” He proudly exclaimed “ I am king of supernaturals”

“How come I have never heard of you” I questioned

“ You my dear are from the main land, most mainlanders are no longer connected to this forest, although they are not within this forest they would still obey my command if they were to find themselves in my presence”  He explained. “This forest is a separate realm than that of mainland, even though we are connected an ordinary human can not cross through the veil that separates us with out the aid of magic or a direct invitation from me.”

“Oh my goddess, how can I be mated to a king” I felt my body shake in both panic and excitement. “ My friend Tinsley would have so much to say on the matter”

“Tinsely? Ah must be the she-wolf I smelled on you earlier”  He stated

“ Yes her and Nathan are going to freak out when they wake up if they haven’t already”

“ No worries I will send my men to collect them and bring them to the palace, speaking of which follow me I want you to get familiar with your new home” He beamed at me.

He stood up while extending his hand for me to take. My mother always told me when you meet your mate things move fast, I am not so sure I am ready to move this fast, I came for an adventure not a mate. A hand laying on mine brought me back to reality, He looked concerned with my delay to him. I gave him a reassuring smile grabbing his hand and then looping my arm through his so that I could be closer to him taking in his scent to calm my impending anxiety attack. He lead me to the humongous doors entering the castle. As he pushed the doors open we walked into a great hall it was wide and painted white with golden trim and accents, crystal chandeliers lighting the way, and a long red carpet covered the floor and went on farther than I could see. He pulled me behind him as he kept walking and I just looked around in amazement if the hall looked this amazing, I could not wait to see the rest of the castle. At the end of the incredibly long hallway there was another set of doors they weren’t quite as big as the ones that entered the castle but close, bronze in color with white and gold flowers engraved. The room on the other side was circular with a white and black marble floor and black and gold walls, portraits covered most of the wall.

“Who are all these people” I asked examining the portraits.

“Family” He replied “ This one is my mother” Pointing a portrait of a white haired lady elegantly dressed and postured her eyes were purple and even with the white hair she did not look a day over 30.

“ Where is she?” I asked curiously.

“No longer with us” He responded sadly.

He pulled my hand and spun me around to proceed through another set of doors entering into a auditorium of sorts with a set of thrones seated in the front  viewing out to other rows of seats.

“This  is where most royal business happens, weddings, meetings, & coronations”  He started walking towards the thrones, pointing the smaller throne “this is where you will sit, right next to me, always” He said with a sly grin.

We continued our tour of the castle where I was shown a music room, game room, war room, and the library. Meeka told me that there were other wings to the castle and this was just the north wing, however he said that mostly everyone avoided the south wing given its history, he claimed that was a subject for another time. We ascended the steps to another floor where he told me majority of the rooms were but he occupied the top floor so that he could enjoy moments of solitude and decompress from his daily life duties.

“As much as I would love for you to join me in my suite, I will allow you time to adjust to your new circumstance and stay in a separate room, but if you decide that you want to, just walk up the stairs and come in”  He said with a wink.

The room he showed me to was both beautiful and elegant with a small yet spacious balcony connected that over looked the lake surrounding the castle. I walked onto the balcony enjoying the view and realized I could see the waterfall where I had met my mate in the distance. Meeka walked behind me placing his arms around my waist and pulling me up against his hard chest. While resting his head on top of mine.

“This is beautiful!” I exclaimed.

“Just wait till you see the view from mine”

“Have you sent for my friends yet”

“Yes, my men are looking through out the forest, none have linked me to say they have been found yet.”

“We were east of the waterfall”

“they have your scent tracking down to where you were”

With out another word I was spun around and kissed while his hands roamed over my chest, taking his time massaging my breasts. I let out a small moan against his lips that seemed to excite him more making his kiss more passionate and forceful as he pressed me against the edge of the balcony. I felt a bit scared as I pushed against him afraid of falling over the edge. The kiss deepend as I walked him backwards until it was him that was against the wall. Using my hand to stroke against the crotch of his pants and the other to gently pull on his hair. He reversed us picking me up in the process. I wrapped my legs around his waist. Meeka wrapped his hand in my hair pulling my head to the side and exposing my neck to him. He broke our kiss trailing kisses along my jaw line to the spot where I would be marked, licking and sucking on it. I could not stop the escape of my moans wishing that we would go further but also not wanting to be taken like this the first time with my mate. With my hands in his hair I pulled him back to capture his lips with mine and gave one last long kiss before breaking it panting for air. Every where he had touched me was tingling with excitement.

“ You taste absolutely amazing” He breathed against my neck nuzzling his face. “I can’t wait to taste all of you”

I shuddered at the thought of how disappointed he would be when he found I was not a virgin, especially when he discovered that it was my friend that he is searching for that I had lost it to. I contemplated telling him, but I don’t know him well enough to know his reaction. I also feared how Nate would react to me finding my mate, especially one that was a king. Nonetheless honesty is always best.

 “ Meeka”  I started “ I’m not a virgin.”  I finished with my eyes facing the floor afraid to meet his gaze.

His hand cupped my chin and forced me to look at him. I did not see anger, disgust, or disappointment on his face, he just looked at me lovingly.

“Neither am I” He replied with a smirk. “ I would not judge you for that, we wolves are highly s****l creatures”

Shocked at the fact he took it so well, I decided that it was best to tell him who it was that he was about to bring into his home.

“My friend Nathan, he is one of the friends you are bringing here, I lost it to him” I braced my self for anger. He gently sat me down and walked towards the rails of the balcony appearing to be in thought about it. I walked over to him placing my hand on his back rubbing him in an attempt to calm him down.

“I’m sorry at the time, I thought I wouldn’t find my mate for years, I love Nate but as a friend our emotions were just out of control that night”

“Does he love you, is he going to fight against me to claim you?” He asked with a hint of anger in his tone. I know the answer even though I did not want to say it.

“Yes he loves me, but he wouldn’t fight against you” I said not sure if I was trying to convince him or myself.

He c****d his eyebrow at me “ you don’t seem sure of your friend. Rest assured I will not allow anyone to come between us, the moon goddess designed us for each other. Our fates are intertwined.”

I feel like 2 tons of stress are laying on top of me now. I wanted to rest but I also wanted to make sure he would not hurt my friend. I took the initiative to pull him to the wide lounge chair so that we could just lay and talk. We laid under the stars cuddled together exchanging stories of our lives. He was not happy to hear about my father arranging a marriage for me, and it hurt me to hear how he was raised to be king. Many years of being studying under his father was filled with unhappy memories, neglecting to be able to experience the freedom of being a child, and cruel punishments from his father if he were to act against his wishes. He did not really have anything good to say about his father nor did he even give his name just spat the name king. Though he did say his mother was always warm and loving and wanted the best life for he and Rae. He told me of the many times him and Rae would sneak out of the castle to go to the waterfall and swim or just explore the forest, it is their sanctuary.

“So is that why you were there tonight” I yawned sleepily drawing circles over his chest.

“Yes, I needed space there is unrest in the forest I am not certain why, yet but I feel something is coming.” He said running his fingers through my hair.”

Its crazy I’ve only known this man for half the night but yet feel so comfortable and not really wanting to leave his side, damn mate bond. I was awoken by the warm sun beaming down on me, I had fallen asleep on the balcony but my mate was gone. Needing a shower I made my way to the restroom allowing my body to be pelted by the warm beads of water, replaying the nights events. It must’ve been at least 20 minutes before I got out and walked into the room to find Lucy standing by the closet doors appearing as if she just finished putting away the laundry.

“Princess Rae, requested that I bring you suitable attire” She said with out a hint of emotion.

“Oh! Thank you I definitely needed these, my suit case mostly has leggings and t shirts.” I replied with a smile. “Do you know where Meeka is?”

“His majesty is handling royal matters, he asked that you wait for him here”  She responded. Before I could ask any further questions she vanished. I decided against dressing right away since I was told to wait and made my way to balcony to sun bathe.
