Zoe stared at the man in the elevator with wide eyes. “A glance is enough. Why are you staring at me like that? Haven't you ever seen a woman without clothes before?”
The tall and handsome man stepped out of the elevator, his voice laced with amusement. “Actually, I haven’t.”
Zoe: “You must be completely inexperienced if you’re so captivated!”
The man was neither embarrassed nor shy, responding honestly and somewhat arrogantly. “You do look quite good.”
Zoe: “……” Speechless. This guy is so shameless!
Although she wasn’t embarrassed about being exposed, the man’s provocative compliment made Zoe blush completely. Her cheeks burned with heat, as if they were about to boil over.
She fanned her flushed face with her hand. But as soon as she did, the area she had covered was exposed to the man’s gaze again.
Sebastian Adler’s eyes flickered.
Zoe quickly pulled her hand back and covered her chest again. Her face turned even redder, feeling hot and steamed like a freshly cooked shrimp.
Angry and flustered, Zoe couldn’t think straight and was infuriated. “What a jerk!”
The man looked at her with a relaxed and amused expression, his eyes lazily smiling.
Zoe snapped, “Stop staring at me like I’m a monkey in a circus!”
Sebastian Adler replied, “If you insist on comparing yourself to a monkey, that’s not my problem.”
Zoe: “……” Even more infuriated!
Realizing she was giving the man more attention than he deserved, Zoe turned abruptly to leave. But after taking a few steps while covering her chest, she stopped.
Since she had already been exposed, she couldn’t just leave in frustration —she had to do something!
Zoe turned around and marched up to Sebastian Adler, reaching for his pants.
Sebastian Adler, amused, said, “In broad daylight, and in the hallway, you’re so eager. Isn’t that a bit much? At least give me a bed or a chair.”
Zoe didn’t haggle with him and directly yanked down his pants.
She glanced at him and said, “Tiny!”
Sebastian Adler’s smile froze.
Not giving him a chance to retort, Zoe turned on her heel and walked away triumphantly, as if she were a victorious general.
After pulling down the man’s pants and calling him small, all her pent-up frustration was released. It felt great!
Sebastian Adler stood in the hallway, slowly pulling up his pants and fastening his belt.
He watched the slim, graceful purple figure disappearing behind the door and said, “You’ve taken off my pants, so how about giving me your contact info before you leave?”
Zoe, without looking back, rolled her eyes. “I’m not interested in enoki mushrooms.”
Enoki mushrooms? This is so insulting!
Zoe dashed back into her room, slammed the door shut, and locked it.
Sebastian Adler looked at the closed door, his eyes filled with interest.
Meanwhile, the phone call had not ended, and Grace Whitmore, listening in, asked with concern, “Zoe, what’s going on over there?”
Zoe: “Nothing, just ran into a scoundrel!”
Grace Whitmore: “……”
Zoe: “That scoundrel tried to hit on me!”
Grace Whitmore: “……”
Zoe: “After so many years in the entertainment industry, I can see through this little trick.”
“That man is interested in my fresh and enticing body.”
Grace Whitmore: “……”
“Are you safe living alone?”
Zoe: “I should be fine. The man is quite handsome, even better-looking than some celebrities. Plus, he had a black diamond watch on his wrist, worth over 500,000. A man with looks and money like him probably doesn’t lack women throwing themselves at him, so he’s unlikely to be desperate enough to assault me.”
“Looks like he just wants a casual fling.”
Zoe rolled her eyes, “Trying to sleep with me on the first meeting? Dream on!”
“Zoe, don’t pay any attention to him. Stay away from him.”
“I’m not concerned about him anymore. I’m coming over to cook for you, do laundry, mop the floor, and comfort your wounded heart with sincere friendship.”
In the hallway just one door away, the elevator dinged open, and a real estate agent in a suit walked out.
Sebastian Adler had just returned from Germany. Preferring a more unrestricted lifestyle, he was looking to buy a property here.
The real estate agent, eager and attentive, approached Sebastian Adler. “Mr. Adler, sorry to keep you waiting. I’ll take you to see the house now.”
Sebastian Adler: “No need to see it.”
The real estate agent’s heart sank; he had missed a big client by five minutes! This client was extremely wealthy!
Sebastian Adler pointed to the door Zoe had disappeared behind. “Is there another house next to this one?”
The real estate agent looked up quickly. “Yes, this floor has two units per elevator. The other one was vacant. I’ll take you to see it now.”
Sebastian Adler: “No need to see it. I’ll take it.”
The real estate agent was astonished. “You’re buying it without even seeing it?”
Sebastian Adler: “This is the one. I’ve decided.”
The real estate agent was even more surprised. How could he decide without seeing it? What was he attracted to?
After swiftly signing the contract, the real estate agent was still in a daze. This deal went through so quickly! The commission was so easy to earn! He had never done such an effortless transaction in his life. He was a bit dazed.
A three-million-dollar house, and this dashing man bought it without even seeing it, and paid in full!
In fact, three million was nothing to Sebastian Adler.
The world of the wealthy is indeed hard for ordinary people to imagine.
After buying the house, Sebastian Adler’s phone rang. He answered, “Hello.”
The other end: “What do you mean hello? Call me Uncle.”
Sebastian Adler protested: “You’re only three years older than me.”
The other end: “It’s about seniority.”
Sebastian Adler: “Only three years”
The other end: “Call me uncle. Stop struggling.”
Although Sebastian Adler was very annoyed, he had no way to argue; the fact was that the other person was indeed older.
Feeling the pressure of natural blood ties, Sebastian Adler had no choice but to lower his head and say, “Uncle.”
The man on the other end laughed lazily, enjoying himself.
“My dear nephew, be good. I’ll buy you a bone next time.”
Sebastian Adler gritted his teeth, “Asher Knight!”
Asher Knight left with a casual, “Come over for a meeting,” ignoring his nephew’s gritted teeth, and hung up.
He enjoyed teasing his nephew while he was idle.
Teasing his nephew made him feel even better.
Henry, following behind Asher Knight, was very glad he didn’t have an uncle.
The two entered the president’s office at the bank. Asher Knight sat at the impeccably tidy desk, with sunlight streaming through the window, casting a golden glow on his black suit.
Henry stood across from him, listening to his instructions.
Asher Knight said slowly, “There’s something very important I need you to do.”
Henry’s expression turned serious at the mention of “important.”
In his experience, nothing was considered important enough to be called so by the boss. Even a ten-billion-dollar project seemed insignificant to him.
Henry’s face was solemn, and he breathed lightly, “I’m ready to listen, boss.”
Asher Knight: “Go to my villa and get a brand-new black dress with pearls and sequins.”
Henry was stunned, unable to believe his ears. Was the “important” task to get a woman’s dress?
Asher Knight raised an eyebrow, looking at the dazed Henry. “Don’t you understand what I’m saying?”
Henry hurriedly said, “I understand. Just shocked.”
“I’ll go get it now and immediately deliver it to the lady.”
Asher Knight’s lazy voice said, “Did I ask you to deliver it to her?”
Henry was puzzled again. Wasn’t the dress meant for the woman he spent the night with?
Asher Knight: “Bring the dress to me. I’ll deliver it personally.”
Henry was even more confused. Did the distinguished bank president really need to personally deliver such a small thing?
It seemed like the boss was trying to please the woman.
Previously, he had seen countless beautiful women trying to please the boss in various ways, but today was the first time he saw him trying to please someone.
Asher Knight added, “Buy some butter croissants and orange soda, and a hangover cure.”
These were clearly not the boss’s taste. Henry knew they were for the lady.
Henry didn’t dare delay and turned to leave.
Asher Knight added, “Buy them from the dessert shop on the corner, the one next to the school.”
Henry was surprised. Asher Knight, who never ate sweets, remembered the location of a dessert shop so clearly.
Henry quickly went to buy them.
Asher Knight stood up and walked towards the conference room, taking the private elevator reserved for long corridors.
The elevator floor numbers changed continuously, stopping at 48. The door opened slowly.
Asher Knight stepped out, and in the distance, he saw North Whitmore.
North Whitmore, looking at his watch, saw Asher Knight.
He wondered if it was a trick of his phone, but today, Asher Knight seemed especially radiant and energetic.
“Brother, why are you so late today? You usually arrive in the meeting room half an hour early.”
Asher Knight replied meaningfully, “I didn’t sleep all night, only closed my eyes at seven in the morning.”
North Whitmore was surprised. “You stayed up so late. What did you do last night?”
