23 The Calm Before the Storm The docile tones of faint humming stirred Dorian from his slumber. Xia sat at the foot of the bed, brushing her hair. She felt the bed tremble and smiled. Dorian sat up, stretching his arms toward the ceiling. “Good morning,” Xia greeted. “Good Morning to you too,” Dorian replied. “It must be a terrible tragedy to manage all that hair.
