RAFFERTY CAME BACK to his office and saw Llewellyn giving the latest paperwork his attention. ‘Has Professor Fanshaw put in an appearance yet, demanding police action against Tracey Briggs?’ Llewellyn shook his head. Rafferty felt a trace of unease. ‘Has he been in touch at all?’ ‘Yes, he rang this morning. He’s still at the university here. He told me he’ll be there all day.’ Rafferty could only surmise the professor had recalled Tracey’s right hook, and thought better of going to the house without an armed guard.
